Feeling good

I'm sorry if I seem to be forever "fussing" about my amazing new shoes, but I just can't help it. The past two days I have felt better all over, including my feet, while taking Austin for a walk, than I have for several years. Today's weather was so amazing and I felt so good I just wanted to keep walking and walking and walking. But I know better. I'll keep working up gradually. I seriously think that if I had had these shoes two years ago, I would not have injured my feet in the first place when I was doing so well on the treadmill. Thank you, Lord, and thank you, Saucony!

I also saw a number on the scales this morning that I have not seen since 2002. That's the last time I lost more than these same old ten pounds that I keep losing and regaining. One interesting thing though - my face is thinner than it was back in 2002, but I can't yet fit into the pant size I wore back then. This belly and behind fat is a whole lot more difficult to lose at this age, unfortunately.

Today Austin looked so grown up, and of course, my cell phone was begging to take some pictures!

One of his most favorite things to do is open and close any sliding door, of which this house has plenty. This evening the sliding glass door to the deck kept him entertained for a very long time. Toys just cannot compare!

A pictureless weekend

I was in Lancaster County for the weekend and realized this morning on my way back to State College that I did not take one picture all weekend, not even with my cell phone.  But don't worry, I'll still post some pictures today.

Actually, I left by myself Friday evening.  Because Dick is going through another round of chemo treatments four Mondays in a row, he needs to work each Saturday during this time.  I could have waited to travel with him after work Saturday evening, but Destiny counts the days till she sees me, and I wanted to spend Saturday with her.  So I went to Reading for her, then to our Lititz house.  Actually, I like traveling alone when the weather is nice.  I love to put some good music like Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir or Lindell Cooley in my CD player and just let the presence of the Lord wash over me.

I was afraid Destiny would be upset when she would notice some of the things we got rid of, for instance, her play sink and stove set.  It was very old, a cast-off from the kindergarten room at school a number of years ago.  She played with it a lot in the sun room when she was younger.  I was scrubbing the walls of the sun room on Saturday when she noticed they were missing.  I told her that we just can't keep everything, and that now that she's old enough to know how to use the real stove she doesn't need to pretend anymore.  That seemed to make sense to her, and she was okay.  Whew!

Dick arrived in the evening, and Destiny got to see his pickup truck for the first time.  She was so thrilled with it, she insisted that we go to church in it Sunday morning.  She just loved the sideways seat for her behind mine.  It was good to see our church family and catch up with many of my dear friends.  I led worship.  I'm telling you, some songs just don't get old.  I led Darlene Zschech's Worthy Is the Lamb and Michael W. Smith's Agnus Dei.  And then there were some good, newer ones too - Andres Spyker's I Give You Glory and Laura Story's Bless the Lord, O My Soul.

Let me just share some of the lyrics of Bless the Lord.

You give and take away for my good,
For who am I to say what I need?
For you alone see the hidden parts of me
That need to be stripped away.
And as You begin to refine,
I'm learning to let go, to rely
On the One who walks with me,
As hard as it may be,
You're teaching me all the while to say,
"Bless the Lord, O my soul!!"

Some day I will have a testimony to share about what those lyrics mean to me, but not yet.

After church Sunday we ate lunch at Subway, went home to nap, then Frank and Mari and her son came for a few hours.  We had a lot of fun together.  Theirs is another story I hope I can tell someday, but again, not yet.

We took Destiny home to Reading last evening, came back to the house to once again get it all cleaned up and ready for a showing, in case the people who looked at it last week want to see it again.  This morning we left at 6:15 AM in separate vehicles, but traveling together.  At first there was terrible fog and light rain, but it soon got better.  Dick went directly to Geissinger for his chemo treatment, and I came here just in time to change Austin's poopy diaper, hahahaha!  That's okay, I was so glad to see him!

And like I promised here are some pictures.  First of all, cell phone shots from Friday when Austin was emptying a kitchen drawer.

After getting all these things out, his main objective was to get them to spin. Like the blue bowl in this photo.

The big, stainless steel bowl was giving him trouble.  He tried and tried with no success.

Finally he discovered that if  he turned it upside down it would spin and make a most delightful noise.

Seriously, why spend money on toys??

And now a few pictures of my Florida sunshine.  Remember that Lisa and George had to very reluctantly put down their two ill and aging Yorkies a few months ago?  A few weeks ago George emailed this picture from his cell phone asking, "Should we?"

Look at Sophie's face!  How could they resist?  Apparently they did, because I haven't gotten any birth announcement, hahahaha!

On Friday Lisa and Sophie went school clothes shopping and here she is modeling an adorable outfit.

I have not seen this growing- up-too-fast girl since  August!  But I'm going to make up for it in July.  George won a trip for two to Costa Rica through his job, and I am going to spend ten days with Sophie!!  I can't even believe it.

Slideshow of our Lititz house

As I said I would do, I am posting a slide show of our Lititz house.  Actually, we've been told that the people who were shown through the house yesterday morning are very interested, but we do not yet have an offer.  So just in case that would not materialize, I'll put this out there in the event that any of my readers in Lancaster County would know of someone who might be interested.

The house is a double wide modular in a quiet, over-55 community, set against the woods, as you can see in the first picture.   After having lived in big, old houses most of our lives, the simplicity of living in this little house was just what we wanted when we down-sized five years ago.

In His Time

Yesterday we left for Lancaster County around 3:00 right after Dick's chemo treatment, thinking we were just going for the purpose of buying the pickup truck and for Dick to be able to haul away the "stuff" to the refuse authority and Salvation Army.  However, soon after we left we got a phone call from one of the owners of our community saying that someone is looking to buy a house in our community and were we still planning to sell ours?  Plans were made for him to bring them to see it Wednesday  morning at 10.

WELL.   That changed the nature of our evening.  There are so many things I would have liked to do before we would show the house, but there was only time for the major necessities.  We worked like maniacs cleaning and decluttering. Bless Dick's heart, he did sit on the big chair and take a 30-minute nap at one point.  It was midnight when I finally went to bed.  My feet were aching terribly and I was really afraid that I had added more injury to my existing problems.  But they felt amazingly okay this morning when I got up.

I left around 7:30 this morning to come back to State College.  Dick, however, had today off work and spent the day getting rid of stuff and doing more last minute vacuuming, etc.  He had supper at his parents' house.   He will come back here tomorrow morning, starting work at 10:00.

I must tell you something funny he said last night.  Many of you know how I often found really cute clothes for Destiny at the Salvation Army store.  We had several bags of her outgrown clothes for him to take to Salvation Army today.  I found another box of her outgrown things in the guest room closet.  When I brought it out and added it to the rest of the Salvation Army donations, Dick said,  "From Salvation Army they came, and to Salvation Army they shall return."  Hahahahahaha!

Whether or not these "lookers" are going to be interested in buying our house, I am amazed at the timing of it all.  First of all, isn't it something that we got that phone call when we were already on our way to Lancaster County and I had at least one evening to get things ready?  Secondly, that it was just when Dick would have a pickup truck to more conveniently be able to haul things.  And thirdly, that I had just gotten the shoes that made it possible for me to do an evening of hard work on my feet.  God really does care about little things and details.  It makes me want to trust Him more completely with all the loose ends of our lives that are seeming to take so long to work out.

A different weekend, chemo starts tomorrow

This has been a very different weekend for Dick and me. It's his weekend to work, so of course we're in State College. But we're here alone!! On Saturday I played with Austin while they packed for a weekend trip to Baltimore area. The weather was just amazing, so we spent some time swinging.

He loved standing at the screen door, but he's a little rough neck, and I don't know if the screen will be safe for long with him pounding on it! He's already been trying to slide the door, and believe me, it doesn't slide easily. But he can do it, the little Brutus!

They left about 2:00. Lori has a childhood friend whose husband is a pastor in the Baltimore area. The church was having some kind of anniversary celebration this weekend. Lori's friend had never yet seen Austin, so I'm sure they've been having a grand time. They'll come home tomorrow sometime.

Soon after they left I headed to downtown State College to a store called Rapid Transit Sports. It came highly recommended to me by Anthony and Lori. While I did say on Monday that my foot felt better, that was not the case the rest of the week. I took very short walks with Austin on Monday and Tuesday and was in a good bit of pain the rest of the week. I was doing everything imaginable to help it - ice, regular ibuprofen, pulling my toes up with a belt several times a day, the night splint. So on Saturday I went to Rapid Transit and explained to the salesperson the issues I'm dealing with. He was very patient, in spite of the store being a complete mad house of people and shoes. I tried many pairs of shoes on, he even wanted me to walk out on the side walk in them. I settled on a pair of Sauconys that felt better than any of the others.
I wore them to shop for groceries, something I wasn't sure I could possibly do. I pretty much wore them the rest of the day and most of today (not for church though!) Another thing he told me was not to use ice too much. In fact he said I should try putting my foot in warm water first thing in the morning, which I did today. This evening Dick and I had to go to Walmart for a few things and I was able to do the most pain-free (almost anyway) walking in almost two weeks. I realize that this has not been a normal two days of being on my feet, but I still feel very encouraged that these shoes are going to add greatly to my ability to recover from this plantar fasciitis.

Tomorrow Dick will begin his next and last round of maintenance chemo. Four Mondays in a row. After he's finished tomorrow we will head for Lancaster County. He's going to buy the pickup truck from my brother's business. We'll sleep at our Lititz house tomorrow night, then Tuesday morning I'll head back up here. Dick has Tuesday off, so he'll stay down there and use that pickup truck to haul all that stuff out of my office!

Sometime this week I'm going to advertise our Lititz house on here with pictures. If any of you Lancaster County readers should happen to know anyone over 55 who wants to scale down and live economically, our house is just the ticket.

Goodby Explorer, Hello Ranger

This morning I took this picture of the Explorer as Dick was leaving for work. It will not be coming back here again. At 10 AM it was sold and transfered to another owner. Actually, it looks a lot better on this picture than in reality. It has some real issues, and now someone else will take care of them.

In a few days we will become the owners of this Ford Ranger pick-up truck that my brother's business is selling. Ever since we sold our previous pick-up truck five years ago, Dick's been belly-aching for one, and now he'll be a happy camper.

I discovered that even Lori is happy we're getting one, as it will be so much easier to do mulching, etc. I'm sure it will also be a godsend when the time comes for us to be moving more things. So I guess I'll just get over my idea that it's not worth anything if it can't carry a whole bunch of people.

Jeremy did it again!

Did you ever get up in the middle of the night, look at the clock wrong, thinking it was morning and time to get up?  Yesterday Jeremy called and told me that he had set his alarm earlier than usual because he wanted to be able to get a full hour at the gym before going to work.  He woke up, looked at his clock, and thought he had overslept half an hour.  He got right up, dressed, and headed for the gym.  On the way there he discovered that it was not yet 3:00 AM!!!!

It reminded us of his junior high years.  He used to swim for a winter league that had meets on weekends, sometimes at far away places.  The night before one such meet was bitterly cold and and very windy.  Our big farmhouse felt like a sieve.  We decided it would be fun to all sleep in the family room where it was nice and warm.  Before going to sleep, Jeremy reminded me that he and Dick needed to be woken up really early to leave for the swim meet.

In the middle of the night, Jeremy suddenly got out of his sleeping bag, stepped over people to walk to the kitchen to look at the clock, came back through the family room, and went into the bathroom right next door.  I looked at my watch and it was something like 1:30 AM.  He was in the bathroom being loud like he was mad, and the next thing I knew he was taking a shower!!  After a while he came out of the bathroom and said, "MOM!  Why didn't you get me up???  Why isn't Dad up yet?"  I whispered loudly,  "Jeremy, be quiet!  It's not even 2:00 yet!"  Apparently in the dark, 1:30 had looked like it was a few minutes after six!  So a very clean boy got back into his sleeping bag for a few more hours of sleep, and the rest of us tried to forgive him as we did the same!

Oh, Spring, how I love thee

Really, is there anything better than warm, Spring sunshine after a cold winter? I think I remember asking that very same question on my blog last year. I know everyone is saying it this year on Facebook and on blogs and to each other in person. But I'm saying it here again, I LOVE SPRING!!!!

Look at Austin's face. He loves it too! (Go ahead and humor me - click on this picture so you can really see his face.  Is that delight, or what?)

I should be sleeping by now. Tomorrow morning I have a 7:30 AM mammogram (routine). I'm not used to being out and about that early anymore. Let's see, I have to remember to not use deodorant, right? And do I have to skip my coffee? I'll have to check the instruction paper. Goodnight.

Another working weekend

On Friday after Dick got off work, we left for Lancaster County.  We drove in heavy rain most of the way, but were thankful it wasn't snow.  Of course we went to Reading first for Destiny.  As soon as we got to the house she headed to her favorite chair and was sound asleep, as snug as a bug in a rug.  She probably would have slept there all night if I had let her.

On Saturday the rain poured and the winds blew.  Dick still managed to load up some timbers that were behind the shed and take them to Jay Nissley's for firewood.  We had an appointment with a guy from whom we ordered several replacement windows.  Dick did some other repairs.  Frank and Mari came and picked up Destiny for the evening and night.

And what was I doing all this time????  Oh my.  I was in my office going through boxes of stuff I had brought home from my classroom, as well as the bookshelves.  I had several shelves of music, most of it totally unused in the almost-five years since we moved to that house.  Unused, even though I was a music teacher and a worship leader the entire time I lived there.  So what are the chances I will ever again use any of that music?  Probably nil.  So I threw a lot of it into garbage bags.  I boxed up books for the Mennonite Historical Society's book frolic, including my Matthew Henry commentaries and my Strong's Concordance, all of which are now online.  I went through the bag of files I had gotten from my sister Janet's office, including her humor file, which sent me into gales of laughter just when Dick had sat down for a 30-minute nap.

SO, my office now contains garbage bags of stuff for the refuse authority, as well as a very old desk in poor condition headed for the same place; garbage bags of Destiny's outgrown clothes ready to be taken to Salvation Army; boxes of things I want to keep at our storage unit, a box of books for the book frolic.  And this is what it looked like as I was working.

Sunday morning we went to our church, and it was so good to be there.  I introduced the song Healer during worship.  I heard it on the radio a few weeks ago, and it really touched my heart.  I hope you have time to listen to it.

We also had a children's drama (that I was NOT in charge of, thank you, Diane!)  There was also a very special time of prayer for some very great needs, and there was a fellowship meal afterward.  So many good things in one morning.  And best of all, during the meal, was having some of my dearest women friends take the time to let me pour out my heart as they listened to me with all of their hearts.

In the afternoon Frank and Mari brought Destiny back to our place.  They had his son J'von and her son Jovanni along and they all stayed for quite a while.

After they left I finally took a nap while Dick and Destiny played games. Then we took her home to Reading, came back and cleaned the place up as best we could, and hit the sack.  And early this morning, again in pouring rain,  we made the trip back to our home in State College.

I tried to get a picture of Lori playing with Austin before she left for work, because she looked so pretty.  Austin looks like a blur, but they were having fun!

At lunch today Austin was playing shadow tag again.  It started when he noticed the shadow of his hand on the tray.

He caught it!

 Uh-oh!  Where did it go?

Ahhh, here it comes again!

Such an inexpensive toy, hahahaha!

I almost forgot to give an update on my foot.  I was quite discouraged Friday evening and Saturday with the seeming ineffectiveness of the cortisone shot.  But yesterday and today I think I can definitely tell a difference.  I'm trying to remember to do exercises that pull my toes forward, to use ice, and to take ibuprofen.  I really do want to be able to walk that baby when we get some nicer days this week.

Hoping for pain relief

Yesterday my left foot became even more painful, making it very difficult to walk.  Today I actually was able to get an appointment with a podiatrist here in State College.  He gave me a cortisone shot, but so far it's not kicking in the way I'd like it to.  Hopefully it will in the next few days.  When I got one in my right foot two years ago, just the day before my spring program at school, it made a huge difference.  So I'm hoping.

We'll be driving down to Lancaster County after Dick gets home from work.  I intend to sort through a bunch of stuff this weekend, something I can do sitting down.

Our beautiful weather has turned to rain.  I'm just thankful it's not snow.

Tomorrow my sister Rose from Atlanta will be running in a race in Jacksonville, something she's been training for.  This week a friend of Jeremy's asked if he'd like to go to Jacksonville to watch him run in a race this weekend.  He agreed to go along, only finding out later that it's the same race my sister will be running in. Isn't that so cool?  And making it even better yet, my sister Mary Ellen's step daughter lives in Jacksonville and they'll be getting together with her.  Boy, would I love to catch a flight to Jacksonville!

Shadow tag

This morning I noticed that Austin was more quiet than usual. He was standing at the basement stair door where bright sun was shining from the outside door just behind it. I discovered that he was seeing the shadow of his curly hair, but when he would try to touch it, his head would move just enough to make the curly shadow disappear!

This was an incredibly beautiful day, reaching into the mid sixties. This afternoon I was cutting fruit for salad at the kitchen table. The sliding glass door was open, the birds were singing their hearts out, and I felt like I would just burst! Isn't warm Spring weather the most wonderful thing?

Ups and downs

What amazing weather we had today.  I have been so looking forward to going for daily walks with Austin, which I have been able to do the past several days.  But to my great dismay, it seems that plantar fasciitis has decided to revisit with a vengeance, this time on the opposite foot from two years ago.  I've been wearing the night splint for the past several months because the heel pain would come and go.  But yesterday and today it came and stayed.  If it doesn't let up with all the things I know to do, I'm going to find me a foot doctor and ask for a cortizone shot.

Dick had today and tomorrow off work, so he's down at our Lititz house getting some more things done in preparation for selling it.

We're feeling happy about the direction our weight has been going lately, which is of course, down.  Actually, Dick's weight has been going steadily down ever since he moved up here.  I think he's lost about 25 pounds.  In the last six weeks I lost ten pounds.  Unfortunately, it's the same ten pounds I've lost several times before in the past ten years.  But this was without any extraordinary exercising or food deprivation.  Just an effort to be more healthy.  I must say it really helps to have a household where we're all on the same page.

I miss my Dad.  The most unusual things can trigger tears.  The other evening it was a commercial on TV for Miralax.  Imagine that.  But it brought back memories of how important his every bodily function, or the lack thereof, became in his last weeks here on earth.  This morning a song I heard reminded me of a conversation he and I had one time about God's trustworthiness, even when we can't understand hard things. And I wished I could talk with him again.  He always understood my heart.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Almost every time I go into Austin's room when he wakes up from his nap, I draw back the curtains so he can look outside, and I say, "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!" Usually it really isn't, but today it WAS!! I think we may have hit 50 degrees. I heard on TV this morning that the last time we had 50 degrees was December 3rd! The evenings are staying light longer, and we get to change the clocks to Daylight Savings this weekend, which means the evenings will be light even longer next week. Warmer weather and more daylight just gives me more energy!

This afternoon Anthony and Lori took Austin outside for some pictures.

Look at this quality father-son time. Isn't it funny how a Baby Einstein video puts adults right to sleep, but not the babies!

The second Zimwit gathering

It's very late, but I want to let you in on what we did today. We had the second gathering of the Zimwits. The WHO, you say? The Zimwits, not to be confused with dimwits. Right after my dad's funeral in October, we Witmers and my stepmother's kids, the Zimmermans, realized that we did not want to just go our merry ways after having become so close to each other during Dad's illness and death. We named ourselves the Zimwits and decided to make a purposeful effort to keep getting together several times a year.

This time we got together at my step brother Carl's cabin in Lebanon County for the afternoon and evening. Of course my out-of-state sisters were not able to be there, but the rest of us were. All six of my step brothers and their wives, my brother and his wife, my sister Doris and her husband, my sister Mary Ellen, and Dick and I. There were also some younger children there. And of course the one who brought the Zimmermans to the Witmers - my step mother. What an awesome cabin and what a CRAZY time we had. Really, I don't know how my step mother survived raising those six boys. They still don't know how to behave in their old age!!! Just kidding. I'm so glad to have each one of them for a brother.

I haven't posted a picture of Austin for a few days, and I don't want you to forget how cute he is. Don't you just want to kiss that face???

My Beer Bread story

While I'm on the subject of cooking with alcohol, I decided to tell you my beer bread story.

Several years ago one of my co-workers hosted a Tastefully Simple party in her home. One of their hot items was a beer bread mix. All you needed to add to the mix was a 12-oz can of beer. Another co-worker at the party said that someone had given her hubby a case of beer for a wedding gift the summer before. Since they didn't like beer, they still had it. She offered to supply us with the beer we would need if we bought the mix.

So several weeks later Co-worker One delivered our Tastefully Simple purchases, and Co-worker Two brought the beer. Now, just how were we going to do this? Teachers at a Christian school passing cans of beer around? Hmmm. After school was over for the day, Co-worker Two went out to her car and brought in the beer in a brown paper sack. I put my can of beer in my brief case. We were just howling laughing. You would have thought we already drank some. But then, we always acted that way without any help. I told the other girls that if I would, God forbid, have a car accident on the way home, and in the accident investigation they would find a can of beer in my briefcase, they were supposed to come to my defense! Can't you just imagine?  "Jean Stauffer, worship leader, Christian school music teacher, beer hidden in school briefcase. Closet drinker?" Believe me, I prayed the whole way home!

To my disappointment, the bread wasn't all it was cracked up to be anyway.

"Dry" white wine

I feel like I'm kind of boring these days and have nothing much to write about.  But then I thought of my grocery shopping discovery last evening, and I knew I had a subject to write about.

We are trying to consciously become healthier by avoiding processed foods as much as possible and also eating less meat.  So for me as the cook of the household, it's a learning curve.  But I'm loving it.  I've been trying new recipes several times a week, and it's fun.  I think the last time I tried out so many new recipes was when I was pregnant with Anthony and the More with Less Cookbook had just come out.

So yesterday I found a new one that sounded really awesome.  It has a long title: Vegetarian Barley Casserole with Sun-dried Tomato and Basil Pesto.  One of the ingredients called for is dry white wine.

Now you all might as well know that I have never had an alcoholic beverage in my life, except by accident a few times.  (And PLEASE - I am not looking down my nose at anyone who does drink alcoholic beverages.  I might be, however, if you get drunk.)  So I'm not very knowledgeable on such things.

My children just love to recall the time back in 2002 when Jeremy won a two-night stay at a hotel at a beach in New Jersey.  He decided to give it to Dick and me for Christmas.  The stay came complete with fine dining and a complimentary bottle of Champagne.  We honestly were not sure if Champagne was alcoholic or not, so we called Jeremy that night to ask him.  Oh, the phone calls flew between the children after that call.  They were greatly amused, and wished that Jeremy had told us that it wasn't alcoholic.  We actually still have that unopened bottle of Champagne.  We're saving it for a time when our entire family  - children, spouses, and grandchildren, are all together at one time in one place.  If that ever happens, we will open it, and I will drink some.

Now, where was I?  Oh, at the grocery store last evening, looking for some dry white wine.  Now remember that in Pennsylvania alcoholic beverages are only sold in state stores, not grocery stores.  But I kid you not, I thought that dry white wine would be in powder form, and that maybe it wasn't alcoholic and that maybe they would have it at the grocery store.  I had no idea where to look.  So I texted Lori, asking her where they would have it at Giant.  She apparently did not notice my text, so I googled "dry white wine" on my cell phone.  To my great surprise I discovered that it's not dry at all, certainly not in powder form, and in fact comes in nice big bottles with fancy sounding names.  So I knew then that I would not find it at Giant!!

So go ahead, you may laugh at me.  I'm learning other things too.  Do you know what quinoa is?  If you think it's a grain, you're wrong.  It's actually seeds from a flower.  And did you know that cilantro and coriander come from the same plant?  Cilantro is the stem part of the plant and coriander is the seed part.

There you go.  All that wonderful information, and it didn't cost you a dime!

A working weekend

Well, it's time to catch up this blog, isn't it?  First of all I want to share two cute pictures I took sometime last week.

On Friday Dick had off work.  As it turned out, Austin had a fever and was not in the mood for anything but being held.  So it was a tremendous blessing to me that Grandpa was available so that I could get some cooking, laundry, and packing done.  For a long time this is how the two of them lay on the sofa watching Baby Einstein videos.  I think Grandpa went to sleep!

We left for Lancaster County around 5 PM.  To my dismay it was really snowing when we left.  But we were in the Explorer, and Dick doesn't have a fearful bone in  his body when it comes to driving in snow.

After driving about 45 minutes we were out of the snow and the roads were dry the rest of the trip.  We went to Reading first to pick up Destiny.  I was so glad to see her.  For some reason the two weeks apart seemed long this time.

On Saturday we worked at the house.  Dick put in new sink bowls in each of the bathrooms and did some other repairs and errands.  I cleaned all the mini-blinds, washed windows, scrubbed some things, cleaned the oven, threw some things away.  Destiny spent the evening with Frank.

On Sunday we went to church, then to Subway for lunch.  In the afternoon Dick took Destiny and her friend Elizabeth to the rec center pool while I cleaned up around the house.  We took Destiny home in the evening.  She's done such a good job of keeping her bedroom organized since the day four weeks ago when I helped her to put things in place.

I missed not seeing any family this weekend.  But we really needed to concentrate what little time we had at the house on getting it ready for selling.

This morning we left around 7:00 to head back to State College.  No snow this time.

Look at this little face that greeted me!  Unfortunately, although he doesn't look like it on this picture, he is still not feeling well.  He has no appetite, has a bit of a chest cold, and is generally unhappy.  So he got a lot of holding today, which is just what sick little boys need.
