Our weekend

On Saturday something finally happened that Destiny has been looking forward to for weeks - she had her friend Leah from church here to play for a few hours. In preparation for Leah's arrival, Destiny cleaned her room, even her closet. And this time, instead of just putting things away, she first of all took everything out of her closet and reorganized it all. I declare, someday I'm going to hire her!
One thing Destiny and Leah enjoyed was looking at the American Girl website, trying to find a "Just Like Me" doll for Leah.
This evening was a really special one. Since I have off school tomorrow for Presidents Day, I really wanted to have someone over this evening. I so rarely have time to do that. We ended up having both sets of our parents and my sister Mary Ellen here to play Mexican Train. There were eight of us, with Destiny. What a fun, fun, fun evening!! My dad (the oldest) is such a domino pro and Destiny (the youngest) picked it up incredibly quickly. This was truly an intergenerational game. But what a mix-up with all the dads and grandpas and grandmas! Everybody was answering for everyone else!
Around the table - Dick, my dad, Dick's dad, Dick's stepmother, my sister Mary Ellen, my stepmother, and Destiny.

Dianne's right....I am proud you're riding the Mexican Train. Isn't it fun? My Mom, Aunt and Other Mother will be coming this week and we'll be riding it too.

BTW, in your post when you said "I declare" I had to chuckle. I thought that was just a southern saying! LOL

Hope your weekend was wonderful.
Hugs!

Destiny cleans like Alan does. He always tears everything out first, then organizes it for the shelves.
You sure are lucky to have a cleaner like her.

I am glad that you had a great time playing games with your family.

Is tomorrow shopping day?

Mexican Train is sure a fun game ! Markel, his brothers, their wives, and the brother's widow ( 7 of us) try to get together once a week to get on that Train! What fun !
