Dick and I actually slept until 7:30 this morning and were awakened by a little girl, already dressed, standing by our bed saying in a little whiney voice, "I'm hungry." I don't think that ever happened before!
I went to our church's women's fellowship this morning. Chris Cox, a very precious woman at church, shared about the struggle we often have of wanting other things more than we want intimacy with God. She had breast cancer a few years ago and she told of the time she heard the Lord saying to her, "You need to want the sin out of your life more than you want the cancer out of your body." Wow! He really does want us and our love.
I gave the house a thorough cleaning today, worked on plans for the food for my family's weekend together a week from now, and worked on the music for tomorrow morning. I didn't even go anywhere for groceries. It's starting to look like Mother Hubbard's cupboard around here, but we're nowhere near starving.
Our tub drain broke last week, and after several attempts at fixing it, and always having the wrong parts, Dick finally got it fixed today. Don't worry - we don't stink - we have two bathrooms, but the other one just has a shower. I'm ready to soak in the tub. The doctor said on Monday that warm water is good for the joints.
The weather was spectacular today. This evening I could see a beautiful sunset above the treetops, and later a lovely, big full moon from the deck. The trees out back are starting to have colored leaves. I just love nature. How can anyone think it all happened without a design?
