I introduced an awesome song in church this morning. It's called Adonai, one of Paul Wilbur's songs. Anything he writes or sings is so anointed.
I got a GOOD nap this afternoon. I made Destiny watch a movie instead of TV so there wouldn't be any commercials for her to beg for like last Sunday afternoon. In fact I didn't set my alarm clock right - I had it set for 3:30 A.M.!! Thankgoodness Dick was watching football and kept track of time, or I might have missed my own Christmas rehearsal at church!
Frank kept Destiny this evening, so after rehearsal Dick and I went to Hoss's Steak House for a belated anniversary celebration. Our anniversary was two weeks ago, but we couldn't find anyone to keep Destiny that evening. We're married 34 years. Just amazing.
I had to come home this evening and make a cake for Boss's Day tomorrow. I made my favorite cake recipe. It's called Ice Water cake from the Mennonite Cookbook. It's a really moist, almond flavored white cake. Well, can you believe I didn't have quite enough white flour, so I had to use a little bit of whole wheat flour. That wasn't too bad, because I had to use only a very little bit. But, the frosting I make for that cake uses flour too. It is a white, almond flavored, very fluffy frosting. So I had to make it with all whole wheat flour. I didn't finish it yet - it's a two part recipe where the first part has to cool first. I guess I'll add cocoa powder and make it into a chocolate frosting so it doesn't look or taste gross.
