Aunt Alma

Earlier this week my mom's younger sister, Alma Brackbill, passed away.  Out of a family of ten children, there are now just the two youngest brothers still living.

I so enjoyed seeing Aunt Alma, whether in person or in the pictures her daughter Joanne or son Ken shared on FB, because I felt she was a piece of my mom. I would look at her and imagine what my mom might have looked like as an older woman.  Mom was just 59 when she died.

I especially remember how classy Aunt Alma looked on that special day when Uncle Bob called all his siblings together just a few weeks before his death in February 2007.  She wore a hat and blazer and necklace.

Today (Saturday) we will gather to honor and remember and celebrate her life. I look forward to being with my Myers family.

I'm sad to learn of your loss. Prayers offered for the family. She looks so great in that photo! I can usually tell just by looking at a face if they are sweet or not. She was a sweetheart, I'm 100% sure.

I agree with Terri - she does look like a sweetie!
My mom came from a family of 9 and they are all gone now, my Dad had 10 and 2 are gone, but they are in their mid 70's to 90 so we know we have some funerals ahead.
