You may remember that several months ago Dick thought he would be starting a new job at a car dealership in town, but a week before he was to start, the Lord stood in the way. He stayed at Pepboys, and the talks that came as a result of his "almost leaving" made some positive changes to his work environment - for a while, anyway. It soon became evident that things were back to the same old inefficient way of doing business, and work became even slower than ever. Dick and I were always on the look-out for new jobs ads for auto technicians.
In June he pursued several possibilities. One of those progressed to an interview and serious negotiations the very week I was in Florida! It actually ended up being a good thing, because Anthony, Lori, Lisa, George, and I were all together down there, and it was very helpful for me to be able to relay to them what Dick told me. It was good to be able to weigh the pros and cons with them and to hear them say that Dick should "go for it."
Today was his first day at Bastian Tire in State College, a much smaller business than Pepboys. We do not know for sure if this will better us financially, although we think it has the potential for that. What we do know is that he will have a regular schedule - 8:30 - 5:30, Monday through Friday, and 8:30 - 12:30 on Saturdays, he will get paid for every hour he's there (instead of just for the work he puts out), and he will have every Sunday off. I think the biggest relief for me will be that I will not have to ever ask him, "How many hours did you get today?" and then wait to see if it was only 3, or on a good day, 7 or 8. And how wonderful it will be for him to be able to stay at Fillmore for the entire church service every time he's there, instead of needing to leave after half an hour.

I praise the Lord with you!
That's wonderful news Jean! So happy for Dick...and you. Having a regular schedule must be a BIG relief so that you can make plans, especially to be in church together.
Hugs,
Kat
It is AMAZING what goes on in our "real" life and not on the blog. LOL! God is working all the time!
I am rejoicing with you at how God worked all this out in His time.
I reminded myself this morning that waiting on God is keeping my eyes on Him and not on circumstances or people.
I'm so happy for you and Dick! This is cause for a big praise!
Such great news Aunt Jeanie!

That's fabulous news! So happy for you.
