Pacemaker today

Dick's dad will be getting a pacemaker this morning.  There have been issues with irregular heartbeat that could not be sufficiently taken care of with medication.  Of course we are praying that there are no complications from this procedure and that the pacemaker will do the job that is needed.

There were some encouraging reports yesterday from some of his short therapy sessions - small things like the fact that he lifted his feet when he made the short walk from his bed to the door and he backed up to his chair before sitting down.  After one session he was complimented for how well he had done and he softly replied,  "My pleasure."  Now that sounds like Dad, and it makes me smile.

So hopefully the move to rehab can take place at the beginning of the week and then the real work begins.  I think he'll thrive there.  Hard work is all he's ever known.

"My pleasure," that is so cute!
So, that is why they haven't moved him to rehab. I pray that this procedure goes well this morning so he can be moved to rehab.

Hi sweet friend!

Gosh, I've had fun catching up with you tonight. It seems like FOREVER since I've had time to just read blogs and enjoy myself. Between our two weeks in California and then having two grandsons here for Spring Break, I seem to have gotten myself behind. Not anymore though. I'm BAAAACK!

I sure hated to read about Dick's scare about losing his job. Yikes! So happy though all is good again. I pray Dick's father continues to improve.

Hugs,
Kat
