Thirty-nine years ago

Thirty-nine years ago today Dick and I became husband and wife - a very wonderful, happy day despite the rain.  We had dated four years, the last  two of those by letter, so my wedding day was a long-anticipated and dreamed-about event.

To celebrate our anniversary this year Dick and I had a romantic evening at home last evening, then this morning we went to the Waffle Shop for breakfast.  We  had fun reminiscing about our wedding day  and honeymoon in the Pocono Mountains of PA.  I reminded him how far we drove for our first lunch the day after our wedding.  I said,  "I guess we went there because it was the only place we were familiar with in the Poconos."  Dick said,  "It's a wonder we didn't look on our phones for a place that was closer to our motel."   That cracked me up.

Here are a couple of pictures I scanned from our wedding day.  Don't ask about my hair!  I was Mennonite, and that's how we did our hair back in those days - the higher the stack the better, hahahahaha!!

I'd love to scan and post more wedding pictures, and I'd also like to show the amazing pictures I took today of a hot air balloon taking off, but I'm falling asleep and the pictures are taking too long to upload.  So good night.

Well, there is a saying, "the higher the hair, the closer to God". *snicker*
