We've made progress this week. We've gotten the box population down to about 3 or 4. As we've unpacked we've decided to get rid of even more things, so we were READY for trash pick-up on Wednesday. Now we're at the hang-the-pictures, towel racks, and hooks stage.
We really do love living here already. It feels marvelous to have a house of our own to sleep in every night. And I know that Anthony and Lori think it feels marvelous to be able to once again use their basement. Our bedroom/office at their house is now being transformed into a wonderful playroom. This picture was taken the first day. It looks even more wonderful since then, but I haven't taken any picture since.
Today after I picked Austin up from daycare at noon, I brought him home to our house for lunch and a nap. He was being a little ham at lunch time.
Here's a picture I took one evening of Dick teaching Destiny to play Battleship. That's a cool game and she loved it.
All summer long as Destiny has spent nights with us from time to time, I've been reading the book River of Fire to her at bedtime. I think we will finally finish it this week. It's about a runaway slave girl and a white girl who was being shipped to her aunt in Mobile after her mother's death. Because of a great tragedy, the two girls met in the forest and survived together for months as they tried to get to Mobile. I don't remember how it ends, so I'm as eager as Destiny to get to the end of the book! I just love reading aloud and I'm glad she likes to listen to me!

My boys loved playing Battleship...a very cool game.
River of Fire sounds really good. I'll have to check into that one for my grandchildren.

Our family always liked Battleship too, and I love that you read aloud to Destiny. I think being read to is special.
Your furniture looks so nice in the new home! You have really been working to have all the boxes unpacked and things put away.
I know that your heart is rejoicing as you move from room to room, realizing what God has done for you. It is another lesson as to how to wait on the Lord. He does have your best interests at heart.
I am reminded day after day of the verse that says, "Wait, wait, I say, on the Lord!" Otherwise, "Shhhh!"
We have no idea the tears you shed but the Lord does, and he bottled them up. I have cases of bottled up tears in heaven, but God reminds me to "Shhhhh! I am in control!"
We are going out to eat with Doris and Cerwin tonight. We can hardly wait to meet them. I LOVE her blog and their ministry. I understand that you know them even related through marriage. It will be a wonderful evening.
