Our sick little boy

We've had a sick little boy this week. On Tuesday morning when he woke up he had a very stuffy, runny nose. They took him along on their trip to Cleveland, but when they got home last night they said he had really developed a cough as well.
Today that cough developed into a wheezing chest, which can be quite scary. Lori called the doctor late this afternoon, and he told them to take him to the ER. After spending a lot of time there, as is usually the case, he was given a Nebulizer treatment and a steroid, or something like that. Hopefully he'll soon feel all better. He's still the sweetest bundle of love, even when he's sick.

Our family is continuing to need to depend on the Lord's strength and mercy these days - for my dad as he becomes weaker and more eager for his "home-going", for my niece Lori who had surgery again yesterday to repair a tear that occurred since her previous surgery last spring, for my Uncle Norman, who just suffered a massive stroke two days ago and is not expected to recover, for physical strength for the family members who are helping to care for my dad, and for emotional strength for all of us, including our children, who are struggling with what is to come. Christ has taken away the sting of death, yes. But the grief from the loss of and separation from someone so dearly loved is still very, very real.

Give little Austin a big hug for me. I hope he gets better very soon.

I think of and pray for Lori a lot. I hope that this little set back will be just that,(little) and that she will be able to continue on with her family.

We will continue to pray for all of you.
