Leaving

I am about to leave for Lancaster County again. My dad seems to be gradually leaving this earth. When will it be? Today Jeremy is there. He said he sang "Amazing Grace" for Grandpa. I wish I could have been there.

Dad has been having much more pain, so we are ready to let him go. What a time that will be when he gets there.

Hi Jean

I immediately felt sad when I read about your Dad because I know how hard it is going to be for your entire family when the time comes. BUT...it gave me sweet chills to then think about how excited he will be to be welcomed into our Lord's open arms. How exciting that must be. I'll be praying for you sweet friend and I'll pray his passing is an easy one.

I haven't had much time lately to visit my blog friends so it's been nice this afternoon to do so. As always, it's been nice to follow along with what's been going on with you through your wonderful photos. I especially loved the ones of your Dad with Austin.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! My birthday was really really nice.

Hugs!
Kat

Jean, please know that I am thinking of you. I know that for a Christian, this is a beautiful time...and merely the ultimate graduation! Mother's passing was the most beautiful thing I have ever witnessed...and as much as that is true...that is just how much I miss her. And, you will miss your Dad. How blessed you are that you have been given this time for family to come and say things or sing things before the time comes when all he hears is the glorious singing of the angels. Our pastor said to us as we were standing around Mom's bed..."if we could only see the beings in this room with us, we could not stand it! The angels are in every corner of this room waiting to escort her to heaven when God says 'come'." So, when you get sad and teary, just remember, your Dad is going to fly with the angels! Oh Glory! I just get chill bumps writing about it! God bless you and yours...I will have you on my mind and in my heart. Tonja

Jean - I've been thinking of and praying for your family. I know how dearly loved your Dad is and what a difficult good bye this will be. But at the same time there will be such joy in knowing he is pain free and completely whole - and meeting his Savior face to face! That part give me goosebumps and happy tears!

There is coming a day when no heartaches shall come
No more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye.
All is peace forevermore on that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Chorus
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain, no more parting over there;
And forever I will be with the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

I thought about this song when I read your post this morning. Our girls' trio used to sing this song and I loved it.

I will be praying for you and your family during this weekend. Many are holding you up in prayer.

I may have said this before, but the experience of your Dad's declining health, and each of you wanting to be there brings back memories of my Dad's cancer and eventual death. We also have a stepmother, and never loved her more than when she tenderly cared for him during his illness and death.

You are in my prayers.

Thanks for the updates Jeanie~ You are in my thoughts and prayers as you anticipate parting with your dad, (but for a time)I know it isn't easy, as you experience joy mixed with sadness, relief mixed with grief, tears mixed with smiles....His journey on earth, and his mission is soon to be accomplished. All of us who know him can say that he has fought a good fight, he has finished the course, he has kept the faith ( and helped so many others to do the same) Now there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness which our Lord the Righteous Judge shall give him on that day,( but not to him only, but to all of us also who love His appearing.)
I'm praying for you and your family.
