I went to Reading after school to get Destiny and have been chillin' ever since. Dick went to the football game at his alma mater, Hempfield High School. This weekend is his 40th class reunion. They had special seating at tonight's homecoming game. Tomorrow evening we'll go to the reunion banquet. I half dread it. What do guys typically ask each other - "So where do you work?" I'm so tired of the whole unemployment story, I don't know if I can listen to it or take part in it for a whole evening. One of Dick's classmates he met this evening is now a retired chiropractor and is planning to move to Myrtle Beach to retire. Another classmate owns this community that our house is in, as well as maybe a dozen other communities. Do I sound like sour grapes? I'm afraid I do. And I hate when people sound like sour grapes.
So I'll tell a little, rather intimate story to show you Dick's sense of humor in the midst of our sorry situation. When he works out or plays basketball at the gym, he showers at the gym, usually several times a week. It saves our hot water! Last weekend Ray took a shower in our guest bathroom, which Dick considers to be his bathroom. Ray left his bath towel hanging in the bathroom when he was finished. On Wednesday night Dick noticed that towel and wondered why it was hanging there. I told him Ray had used it this past weekend. Dick said, "You mean I didn't shower in there since the weekend?" We realized he'd been at the gym three days in a row. I said, "Well, at least you didn't use our hot water." Thursday morning when I was getting ready for school I found myself in a situation without toilet paper. I called out the bathroom door, "Hey Dick, can you bring me a roll of toilet paper from your bathroom?" He brought it to the door and said, "You're going to have to start going to the bathroom somewhere else to save toilet paper." I just cracked up and it makes me giggle every time I think about it.

That's a good one! It actually sounds like something my husband would say too. I think a good sense of humor is important and it sounds like you two have it!
That is pretty funny. I know what you mean about the sour grapes thing...I have to battle it myself sometimes...thanks for your honesty! :-)
Hope you have a great day!
Dick is so fun! He has such a good sense of humor and that helps when going through hard times.
Hey. I got your note on my post from the 3rd commandment and do NOT know that song you mentioned, so I'd love for you to send the lyrics to me.
Glad you like the CD.
That sounds like something my dad or hubby would say!!!
I agree...a sense of humor is essential in times like these. Had to giggle with you.
