The other Sunday I sang a song as a special during the offering and this evening I've been getting it ready for our worship team. The lyrics express what I want my heart to be saying. I'm just not quite there tonight.
Bless the Lord
Laura Story
You give and take away for my good,
For who am I to say what I need?
For You alone see the hidden parts of me,
That need to be stripped away.
And as You begin to refine,
I'm learning to let go, to rely
On the One who walks with me.
As hard as it may be,
You're teaching me all the while to say,
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
All that's in me bless Your name.
Forget not Your power untold,
Not Your glory or Your fame.
For You came to heal the broken,
To redeem and make me whole.
Bless the Lord, O my soul.
Though my faith my falter,
My strength may fail,
I pray for eyes to see.
The richness of Your mercy
Is shown to me.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
All that's in me, bless Your name.
Forget not Your power untold,
Not Your glory or Your fame.
For You came to heal the broken,
To redeem and make me whole.
Bless the Lord, O my soul.

We will keep praying for you and Dad. Be strong and corageous!
I'm so sorry to hear this. I'll keep praying for the right job for Dick and to keep you both from discouragement.
That is a beautiful song and it's so wonderful that you are still able to sing it.
I am so sorry to hear this disappointing news. Must not have been the one the Lord has in mind. It is hard to keep blessing the Lord when our eyes only see the here and now. Keep the faith.........we'll keep on praying!

You are just one step closer to finding out what God's will is in this situation. So, look at it as if you weeded that one out, and wait on the Lord. I know that is not easy to do. In fact, it is one of the hardest things we are ever called to do. I will continue praying as we wait. God bless you and Dick with the strength and perseverence you need.
This didn't come up on my feed today. I think that bloglines is having a problem.
I am so sorry to hear this disappointing news! I know that the Lord will provide one at the right time.
I am blessed to hear you bless the Lord during the dissapointment. What would we do without the knowledge that He cares and is working for our good?
so hard to hear bad news but the Lord has something out there. Keep trusting. In time everthing will be alright again
We too are going through a really trying time financially and so my heart really resonates with you in this.
I have to keep reminding myself of the Truth moment by moment and the lyrics of this song were so good to read.
Luke 12: 22-30 has been my comfort and hope lately...truly, our Father knows we need certain things, and He can be trusted even when we are struggling to believe so.
The faith that is able to sing, say and believe those words, dear friend, is the faith that will hold you tight in this storm. I often tell my kids that Faith that doesn't hold us steady in the hard times is no faith at all. As children of the King, knowing He has all power and could (if he just would!!!) make it all better, -- well, sometimes it's just hard for us to rest and believe that it will be okay. (Especially when He TAKES SO LONG!) Don't you think that is where we really have to crash, though? To whom else should we turn? He has the words to Eternal Life. And things don't always work out the way we would like them to, but to know that God is with us, that He will never forsake us, gives us hope and a place to hide when those who don't believe PANIC! Love you, sweet friend, and I am praying for you!.
I join everyone else in saying that I'm sorry to know this, Jean. I join Tonja in saying that at least you are one step closer to knowing God's will in this situation, although I know it's still hard. Please know that I care.
