I am more convinced than ever that when people pray for us it makes a DIFFERENCE. As I said before, there is never an end to the needs we can pray about. Below is my former student Megan who is now in 10th grade.
Another one needing our prayers is my neice Lori in Michigan, and her family as well. Lori will be getting her second chemo treatment tomorrow. Lori has a recurrence of colon cancer.
Also, please pray for my dear hubby. He's diligently, but so far unsuccessfully, looking for a new job. And at the same time he needs chemo for a flare-up of lymphoma. He will be getting his first treatment on Friday.
And another person to remember in your prayers is our beautiful daughter-in-law Thyda. She is deployed on the Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier with the US Navy and is somewhere out in the middle of the ocean. She and I communicate via email almost every day. A few days ago she wrote that she cried herself to sleep as it really hit her that she won't see Ray for seven months. And when she awoke in the middle of the night she cried some more. It just broke my heart. She reads my blog regularly, so how about sending her some love in the comment section? If any of you would like to encourage her from time to time with an email, I'll gladly give you her email address.

Oh Jean, what a sad post to open this morning! Prayer does make a difference and I will definitely be praying for these dear ones!
There is nothing any of us can do that is more powerful than prayer. God hears them all. I know all of this at one time is a lot...but, not to God. He can handle it.
So sorry Dick is having to go through the chemo while he is looking for a job, too. Why do things pile up on us like that? I think sometimes it is just God saying," Now you will see...nothing is too great for me!"
Thyda...hang in there! Prayers are covering you, too, my dear! You are to be commended for serving us all. I appreciate you, and commit to pray for you daily.

Oh my. Praying for your family members and your student. All heartwrenching situations. Trusting them in God's hands is the best we can do. And yes, the power of prayer is amazing.
Thyda- you are incredible for doing what you're doing, serving our country and being separated from your loved one to do so. Prayers that the time goes quickly until you're back with your hubby.
Thanks Mom!!! You're so sweet and compassionate, my heart soars to know that I am lucky to have you as my mother-in-law. Thank you every one, for your prayers. Please pray for Ray as well as he suffers more than I since he is the one left behind. I will email pictures to mom so that she can show you what some of the world looks like. Take care all!! It seems like a ton of items for us to handle but like the others have said not to god.
We will definitely pray for your student and continue to pray for all the others in your post! Also, George's cousin's daughter Cameron was recently diagnosed with a rare cancer called plasma cytoma for which she received surgery and is in recovery mode now...any additional prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Thyda and Ray, thank you for what you do in serving our country. As bad as things may seem at times, without people like you our world, our country and our lives would be very, very different and I don't mean in a good way! And, always remember to keep God first in your marriage and lives! We learned this 10 years ago from a pastor & friend, and while life certainly isn't always easy, this advice continues to be a blessing for us each day!!!

Prayers are going up here too! I've had a trying week with staffing issues that look too impossible to solve. But I know a God who knows all and deeply cares.

I am a firm believer that our prayers matter...to God because He hears, to us because it draws us closer to our Father, and to those we're praying for because it brings such an outpouring of grace and peace in the midst of the most trying circumstances.
We experienced blow after blow of distressing news within a month's time this summer--all I can say is God's grace IS sufficient, His mercies ARE new every morning. Hang in there!
I'm late getting here but wow, lady. Quite the post. I'm glad you are still smiling (it shows in your writing). One of my favorite songs during overwhelming times of burden is He Giveth More Grace. It moves me to tears -- the good tears. To know that no matter WHAT or HOW MUCH is on my plate, there is always more grace, strength, and peace that will come to us.
