This morning as I was getting ready for school I got a phone call from Miki in Sweden. She called to tell me that it was snowing over there! She was NOT a happy camper. I told her I was not surprised, considering that we had a terribly cool, rainy day yesterday. I don't think the temp ever reached 50 degrees yesterday. UGH!!
Today, however, was back to Spring again - a truly beautiful day. I snapped some pictures on the way to school again.
In the picture below are the beautiful flowers Sam and Ray gave me for Mother's Day. Does anyone know what they are? I thought I knew, but I can't think of the name of them. I'll take advice as to where to plant them as well - sun, shade, etc.
Things are coming together for my program on Friday. However, I am feeling quite anxious. The school recently purchased some badly needed sound equipment. It just arrived last week. Dick and several other men have been putting in long hours, working toward getting it all installed and in working order for the program. I had high hopes of it being ready for tomorrow's rehearsal, but that is not to be. I really, really hate last minute stuff. I have done so many programs, and I have it down to a science as to which day we do what in preparation for it. Now my order is being messed with and I'm trying to keep my peace. I know it will all be good in the long run, but......will it be good by Friday?

Aren't they hydrangeas? I can't help you out with anything more than that - mine have never done well. They are beautiful!!

Those are hydrangeas...the very thing I mentioned a few post ago. I love them. I think they do better in an area that gets some shade...at least mine do. The blooms can be either blue or pink depending on the soil. They make really big plants and the blooms are wonderful.

Your hydrangeas are beautiful! We had two bushes in the sun and they didn't do well at all. We transplanted them in part shade last fall. We will see what happens.
I really miss my hydrangea bushes in MD! They started out being in front of our house (full sun), but we moved them to the side (partial sun). Funny thing is, they were pink at first, but once they were moved they turned blueish-lavendar! :-)
I was popping in to tell you they are hydrangeas, but I guess you already figured that out...
Your friend, Kat is right, you can actually add things to the soil if you want to change their color. My mom has a few GORGEOUS bushes at her house, and yes, I think they are mostly in partial shade. You can start a new bush just by placing one stem in the ground. It will root itself. It takes a few years to get a decent amount of flowers, but it is still a fun fact.
I love hydrangeas - hope you can get them to bloom better than I can! It was beautiful here too yesterday.
