Tonight I am asking for my readers to pray. As most of you know, our son Ray and his wife are both in the Navy. He has a few more weeks of training in Pensacola, she is already stationed in Norfolk, VA. Since she left for the Navy in April they have only spent ONE WEEKEND together. She is experiencing some health issues that Ray desperately wishes he could be there for, but that is impossible. On top of that, he is expecting to get his orders for his next placement any day now, and he is praying DESPERATELY that he gets sent to Norfolk. Please pray for him. He is experiencing the depths of despair. What does a mother say to her son in a situation like this? I could only tell him to hang on to God for all he was worth, which I believe he is doing - he has no other choice. I also told him we would pray and I would ask others to pray, because I believe the prayers of God's people become wings that carry us in desperate times.
Our son Anthony has started a few more websites, including a new blog called No Longer Driven. He's been writing a good bit lately and it's good, thought-provoking, honest stuff. Check it out.

Thanks for sharing this about Ray. I'm sure he really is in a hard place right now...they both are. I will definitely remember to pray for them. Keep us posted and be sure to let us know where he gets placed next. Norfolk would be really cool..and a huge answer to prayer!
yes It is hard for newly weds to be apart. My sons wife is in Africa . He was married last Feb and has been working to get her over here. He will be going back to africa in dec. hopefully to bring her home then.

I just stopped and prayed for Ray. I can only imagine how hard it is to be so far apart, especially when you're worried about a health issue.

I will definitely be praying for Ray's wife's health's issues as well as for Ray. This certainly is a hard time in their lives, but God cares greatly for them.
Oh, Jean, I know this is hard on you. And I am sure Ray is so anxious about this situation. I'm sure he wants to be with his beloved...and rightly so. Hope she is going to be o.k. I will certainly lift him up to the Father as he waits to hear. I truly hope this all has a happy ending. God's desire is for us all to be happy, but, of course, He sees the bigger picture. I'm praying.
Jeanie, I'm praying for Ray. It's very difficult for him and you. God really does see the big picture, if only we could sometimes, too.
That's exactly what I was telling him, that God sees the big picture and we need to just take this one day at a time. Putting his complete trust in the Lord is such a new thing for Ray and Thyda. I know they want to, but it is very, very hard. Please keep praying, everyone! I'll keep you updated.
