After picking up our bags and getting our rental car, complete with a much-needed GPS system, we went to our hotel near the Naval base, Ashton Inn and Suites. I had brought a cooler in my luggage with sweet bologna and cheese. I walked to a nearby store for bread, chips, and a few other things, and we had lunch in our hotel room. Ray hadn't had sweet bologna since he left in May and said it was the best meal he'd had since joining the Navy!!

When I returned from the store, this is what I saw! My handsome sailor carefully ironing the shirt he was planning to change into, neat creases and all! He irons his clothes and shines his shoes every night!! Truly, wonders never cease!
