Today it is two years since my beloved sister, Janet Peifer, entered into the presence of the Lord, right from her own bed, as she peacefully slept. What must have been a glorious experience for her, was a shocking and unbelievably sad one for her husband Elvin, her adult children Lori and Scott, his wife Sheri, and Lori's two children, as well as our entire family, and the many, many people she touched in her various ministries.

I found a card from Janet in my dresser drawers on Saturday. It said, "Jeanie, my sister, shared your address and phone # with me. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through chemo and look breast cancer in the face. May our Lord heal you completely." Then P.S. "Feel free to call, write or email me any time."
She was a dear, dear lady. She did call me and talked a while. She was a great encouragement to me during that time.
I didn't know her, but I surely wish I had! She sounds like a wonderful "big sis" and I hope I can leave the same legacy to my "little" sisters. And I know that she is so greatly missed. Tonight I had a friend stop by and she was talking about losing her parents, and said, "That was hard, but it still doesn't carry the sting that losing my sister did. I will never forget that morning. . . What it looked like, how it was. I will never forget how it was." I cannot even imagine what I would feel without my sisters! And I really, really don't want to know.
