Saturday Cuteness

Now on to lots of cuteness from our Witmer Reunion.  On Saturday there were maybe four hours when most of Doris's and my young grandchildren were all there at the same time.  Sammy's arrival made quite a stir, because everybody had been seeing him on Facebook the past ten months, but no one else had ever met him in person before. Poor guy had slept in the car on the drive there, then came in to all these new people fussing over and gathering around him!  But he warmed up in no time!

And off he went on all fours, causing everyone to howl with laughter!  Lisa got a really funny video of him crawling, but I can't figure out how to put it on my blog.

Then little Brinley, Doris's granddaughter arrived.  Brinley is just a month younger than Sammy, but the most PETITE, energetic little thing.  They were so cute beside each other!

I didn't get any close-up of Doris's other littles - Zoe and Aiden, so I took this one off  Doris's blog.  Just the sweetest kids.

Anthony brought some Thomas the Train stuff along, and it was just the perfect thing to have on the floor of the sitting area.  

Lisa and George needed to leave late Saturday afternoon, so we needed to get family pictures taken, which meant waking Austin from a nap.  Uh-oh!  This is how he felt about that!

This is how it went, trying to get a picture of  Dick and I with the grandchildren!  Sophie seemed to enjoy Austin's bad mood immensely, hahaha!

Witmer Reunion music

Music is an important part of the Witmer family reunion experience.  Today I'll post some short videos from the weekend.

My sister Betty's husband Scott Kepnes is a funny, energetic children's entertainer.  I'm disappointed that my grandchildren had already left by the time we got to this part.  The adorable little ones are Doris's grandchildren.

On Sunday morning our trio (Doris, Barb, and my self) tried a new arrangement of Be Thou My Vision we had never done before.  We decided we're starting to sound like we're hitting our 60's, hahaha!

As always, we all stood to sing some favorite hymns.  For some reason all of these videos seem to be cut off right before the end of the song.  Sorry about that.

And this has nothing to do with music - except that Sammy's giggles are music to my ears!

Family Reunion Weekend, Part Two (Friday evening and Saturday morning)

On Friday evening Witmers from every direction started descending upon Ebenezer Mennonite Bible School near Hanover, PA.  Mary Ellen, the master planner of the event, was busy rustling up the first meal.

Family Reunion Weekend, Part One

As I sit looking at all my pictures from this weekend, I hardly know where to start sharing about it.  First off, if you happen to be a reader unfamiliar with my family, I'll start there.  I grew up in a family of seven girls and one boy.  As the years have gone by, we and our children have spread all over the country.  Our oldest sister Janet, as well as our parents are now in Heaven.  But every year we get together for a weekend reunion at Ebenezer Mennonite Bible School near Hanover, PA.  The population is different every time.  Some cousins haven't seen each other for years because they never hit the same year! But we always have FUN!   

Here are pictures of those who attended this year.

Our beloved stepmother, better known as Grandma Mary (Lancaster County), my sister Barb Brubaker (left) from Idaho, and my sister Mary Ellen (Lancaster County).  Barb has a husband, four children, and two grandchildren who were unable to attend.

    

No one from my sister Janet's family was able to attend this year.  They are from Michigan and California, and we were very fortunate to have them with us last year. 

 

My brother Dick and his wife Nancy (Lancaster County).  Their son Richard and his family (Lancaster County) and their son Steve and his family (Middle East) were unable to attend this year.
