Quick update

 Quick update this morning!  

My cataract surgery went well!  They gave me something in my IV to make me very "comfortable," but said I would not be asleep as I would need to be able to follow the surgeon's commands.  What??  I remember being wheeled into the surgery room and I remember being wheeled out, but I remember nothing of the procedure.  Did I obey any commands in there??  Haha!!

This is a picture I took yesterday afternoon.  I'm not allowed to wear eye makeup for two weeks, and then I'll be having my right eye done so no eye makeup for two weeks after that.  So a whole month!!  No one told me about that part!  

I've taken some close-ups of my bloodshot, very dilated eyeball, but I don't want to scare anyone, hahaha!!  The good news is, I really do believe I have 20/20 vision in that eye for the first time since second grade!  I can't believe it!!  I have an appointment this afternoon to get things checked.  I think I'll ask them to pop the left lens out of my glasses so I can still wear them here at home.  I had to put my right contact lens in first thing this morning so I could see right to make Dick's omelet. 

So it's good Elizer is with Alex this week.  I'm not supposed to lift anything over ten pounds.  Destiny is being given overtime at work this week, so that's a good thing.  She said she's been Facetiming with Elizer each day.  This evening she's coming here after work and we're going to watch Titanic.  We got the VHS version of it for $1.00 on Saturday when we were antiquing.  And yes, we do still have a VHS player,  can you believe it??

Meanwhile in Florida......  The path of the hurricane has certainly been shifting.  Last evening Lisa, George, Sophie, and the dogs drove over to Orlando and checked into a hotel.  This morning she told me they could not sleep, and as the path has changed even more, putting Orlando into its way even more than Clearwater, they decided to pack up and drive back home early this morning.  They are home now. So we wait and see what this storm does.  My heart aches for all who will experience the devastation of flooding and wind.  Lord, have mercy!!
