Another week of winter in the books! Woohoo! And February is short. March is unpredictable, but there usually are some warmer days mixed in. SO ready for that!
First of all some outdoor pictures I took this week.
On Saturday Dick had some car parts to deliver to someone in Milroy (about 45 minutes away) who was interested in buying them. I went along for the drive. It was a cold, sunny day. I got this picture of my favorite scene. This time there was snow on the ice.
A beautiful sunrise on Monday morning.
I spied a big icicle outside my corner kitchen window on morning!
We've been enjoying the birds at the feeder as usual. Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal visited at separate times.
Watching J'von's game via livestream is as exciting as ever. They did lose one game, but at this point they are 18/1 and soon heading into playoffs. These are some shots of J'von that his mother Danielle posted yesterday. Probably a professional photographer took them.
Elizer of course provides no end of laughs. He is constantly trying to walk in big shoes, boots, and slippers.
And he's getting pretty good at it too, haha!
On Sunday morning we had in-person worship again after three weeks of Zoom. So good to not need to sing by myself!
Sunday afternoon was a fun, lazy one. In the evening Destiny had an event for work. The employees were taken out by some people from the corporate office. They ate at a nice restaurant in our local golf resort, then they went bowling. She got a very nice thank-you note for being a team player and helping out other stores over the holidays while our local store was closed. Proud of her!
I will soon be saying goodbye to my trusty 2000 Toyota Sienna minivan. We bought it from our friend Lisa Miller in 2015, and it has served us WELL. But it has developed engine problems that would cost as much to fix as the car is worth. It has 248,000 miles on it!
I know you cannot imagine driving anything this old, but because Dick is an auto mechanic we have always driven vehicles older than anyone else, and we have never had car payments. He knows how to keep them going! This has been my most favorite, most comfortable vehicle ever. The perfect "grandma wagon!"
So what's next? Why, a Toyota Sienna minivan, of course!! Eight years newer, driven 120,000 less miles, and a few other perks. The only pic I have is the back, which I had sent to Dick when I first saw the post. The owner took the post down as soon as we put money on it. He gave us the title, and we'll meet at AAA on Friday to finalize the purchase. I can't say I'm crazy about white, but it is what it is.
Last evening my sister Mary Ellen sent some old findings to us. This is a picture of our dad on the left with his brother Roy and sister Arlene. Probably taken in the 1930's. I love it!

Hi Jean! It is always so fun to see what you are up to. We had a 1996 Toyota Sienna and loved it until it developed an electrical problem and mechanics couldn't figure it out so we traded it in. We didn't get even 100,000 miles on it, which surprised us. We had a 1996 Corolla that was my mom's and we sold it in 2020 for $500 with over 250,000 miles on it and still going. My oldest daughter has a white Sienna just like your "new" one and I think it is about the same year. Always such cute pictures of Elizer. We hope to go back to church in person again soon too - our Covid rates around here seem to be coming down. Glad to hear that things are going well. See you again soon!
Congrats on the new van!! Destiny will be a manager before she knows it. I'm sure they see her potential! Elizer is so funny and so cute! xo
Hooray for the new van. I had a white car once and thought it would look dirty all the time, but actually my navy van was worse. My SIL is also a mechanic and they do the same with cars. It's a good thing!
Love the new header and your winter pics. Also that one of your Dad - so cool! (Actually it looks pretty cold!)
