Our regular week

We are having a wonderful break from the arctic temperature of the last two weeks!  I think I just heard 50 degrees in the forecast for today!  Of course it won't last, but we'll enjoy it while we have it. I stepped onto the front porch to take this picture on Monday morning and was so pleasantly surprised by the "spring-like" feel in the air - it was 22 degrees, haha!  So much better than 0.

One morning this week I looked out my bathroom window and thought,  "Hmmm."  Does it look like someone's vehicle took a loop through the lawn behind our house?  Those clumps at the bottom of the picture are our cut-off grasses right behind our house.  How odd.

Last Saturday Dick and I had a rare afternoon and evening at home.  We each had a project.  He spent hours finishing the puzzle that Austin had started.  Austin had given up on it and decided Grandpa could finish it.  Would you believe when he finally got to the last piece it did not fit??  He kept looking till he found one that was almost like it and in the wrong place, switched them out, and he was done!

Look what I was doing, haha!  My own puzzle!  It's been a few years since I did one of our "cut and paste" family portraits.  I ordered lots of prints, and then cut people out of them with a sharp scissors and assembled them into a group pic.  Nobody argues with me, but they don't always stay in place, haha! (I am heartbroken about Thyda's absence on this picture, and I ask you to please be sensitive with your comments. If you missed my Thanksgiving post, which I did not link to FB, I had mentioned that they are divorcing, and that is all I care to say about it publicly.)

On Sunday morning we went to our 9 AM service at GBRV.  My choir sang one last Christmas piece that we love so much, "Jesus Emmanuel."  It's such a beautiful arrangement, and they did a great job.  

Then we went to Calvary.  They just recently changed their start time to 10:45 (instead of 10:30) so that works great for us.  Look who was serving behind the coffee bar when we arrived!  She saw me with my camera and was saying, "Really, Mom?"

Always such good worship and message there.  And best of all, I'm not in charge of any of it!  

We love hanging out with Anthony and Lori and their friends afterward.  Hunter was looking so handsome in this sweater.

One couple has twin babies and I got to give the bottle to little Maggie while the parents chatted.  (Apparently I make "duck lips" without trying, hahahahaha!)

Lori had work to do at her office in preparation of the new semester starting this week, so we took Hunter home with us.  The weekend before, Sammy had wrapped a book and asked me to give it to Hunter.  It was in our car, still wrapped, and just the perfect thing for Hunter to do on the 20-minute ride to our house.  He loves books so much and hums while he looks at them!  What a precious little boy he is!

I've been busy this week with the regular stuff - cooking for Anthony and Lori, and us too, of course. Music prep, especially this week.  I got all the choir notebooks updated with music from now through Easter.  Since our choir has increased in size I had to do some ordering of some pieces and copying of others.  

Of course, I always find time for Scabble on my phone.  I was so thrilled to have made a 75-point move the other day!  My opponent, the computer, had made the word "lionize."  I added a D to the end of it to get the triple word score, then added that bad word to it and got another triple word score. Woohoo!

One night this week I got a message from a childhood friend who has lived her adult life in Minnesota - Betty (Moyer) Wirt.  She had come across some pictures of us when we were kids.  We both love this one!  I'm on the left, she's on the right. 

Our dirty laundry is calling my name, so I gotta run.  Oops, that reminds me of something funny.  Last week one day I was leaving a talk-to-text message for Dick.  "I am taking food to Anthony and Lori's then I am stopping at Ollies on my way home.  There is a lot of wash to fold at home."  Except I realized that my message really said, "There is a lot of washed up old at home."  Yes, that too, LOL!!
