I went to Dick's shop the long way in order to avoid Penn State football traffic. We got gas and headed toward Lancaster County. It rained the entire way there, many times absolutely POURING!! Dick said, "I don't mind driving in this." I said, "Well, I mind you driving in this!" LOL!!
I was glad to arrive at Sam and Jenn's. There was no end of funny moments and entertainment.
I had brought chili and all the fixin's for dinner. Sammy was eating the required amount of spoonfuls in order to be allowed to have my Rice "Christmas" Treats for dessert!
Bianca's a little Grandpa's girl!
Sammy set up a "stage" on the big ottoman (please notice his decorations!), and he did a concert for us! His mic was a wire whisk, hahaha!
Here's his rendition of "Happy," complete with Bianca running in the background, and Bella the dog getting in on the action at the end, hahaha!!
After dinner Dick and I went to Dad Stauffers for the evening. Dick's brother Bob and his wife Doris were there from Minnesota. Dick and Bob are just 11 months apart! They spent most of the evening telling stories from their childhood and teen years and things we have done together over the years. There were many laughs - a really fun evening. Unfortunately we had to miss out on the gathering with the rest of Dick's brothers on Sunday evening. I'm sure that was a great time too.
When we got back to Sam and Jenn's, Sammy was still awake, so we sat in the recliner to read books. One of the books was Miki's latest one, Count Brown. It is about Katrina and her teddy bear named Brown. (I have some here for sale, by the way, for $20. Let me know if you would like to have one.)
At the back of the book Miki has a page with fun facts and activities. One activity is to find a certain object that is on each page. We had a lot of fun finding that certain object, but when we got to this page we absolutely could not find it.
Sammy even tried my reading glasses, hahahaha!!!
Sunday was celebration day. For one thing it was our 45th wedding anniversary, and also a belated 5th birthday celebration for Sammy. (His birthday was last Monday.)
Sam took our official 45th wedding anniversary photo.
And here we were on our wedding day all those years ago!
And now back to the present! This is Sammy eating his breakfast. Don't we all decorate our table before we eat breakfast? He just loves to decorate!
Bianca was Grandpa's girl again - taking a selfie!
Sammy opened a few gifts in the morning.
A cool gold necklace from Daddy!
Birthday cupcakes.
Later we went to Jenn's parents for a birthday party with the cousins. More cake!
And more gifts!
The weather had been rainy for days, but on the way home Sunday evening the sky was beginning to look promising!
On Monday the sun was streaming through my kitchen windows occasionally.
It made me smile!
A week ago I thought my knockout rosebush was pretty well finished for this year, but surprise!! I guess it liked all that rain! And yes, our grass really is still that green! We don't have many colored leaves yet either.
That's all for this time. Have a good rest of the week!

Again, happy anniversary! Love the picture of you in the car! And love the car too! These days pics like that bring me to tears. A mixture of happy and sad, all rolled into one. What happy memories, and sad present reality.
I know I said it before, but I really enjoy your blog!
Happy Anniversary, though I'm pretty sure I wished the same for you on Facebook. Love the stories and photos. You have such a great family - a real tribute to those 45 years and counting! The rose bush really bounced back with the rain! Beautiful! It looks like Sammy had a great birthday celebration or I should say celebrations! Thanks for catching us up!
Happy Anniversary! I love the wedding photo and the now photo. I can see Lisa in you and Anthony in Dick.
That Sammy is just a ham! He is looking so big. And the pic of Dick and Bianca is just adorable.
Happy Anniversary! You were and are a beautiful couple. Like Mari said, that Sammy is a ham!. I love his little gold necklace.
