A whole weekend of fun!

It's already Tuesday evening, and to start this post I need to go back to Friday evening.  We left from Dick's shop around 5:30 and stopped at Sheetz for some food to go.  I never knew they had taco salad on their menu.  It was really good, but way too much.

We drove to Sam and Jenn's, getting there around 8:00, and had fun catching up and playing with the kids.  Sammy was his usual entertaining self.

He wanted a picture of his foot.

Silly boy!

On Saturday morning Jenn left very early for her drill weekend at Fort Indiantown Gap.  I left later for breakfast with my sisters.  Then Sam and Sammy left for a father-son day, and Grandpa stayed with Bianca.  More on that later.

I had a wonderful time with Doris and Mary Ellen.  We had so much to catch up on.  We realized we had not seen each other in person since October!!  That has to be a record, at least in the past ten years since Mary Ellen moved to PA.

One of our topics of discussion was our iPhones.  I took this picture of them when they weren't looking.

And Doris took this picture of me when I was't looking!  Our children thought these pictures were hilarious for some reason.  We "old ladies" and our iPhones, haha!

Later we sat outside the restaurant to talk some more.  It was such a lovely morning.

Then I noticed a missed call from Dick and a text message, "When are you coming back?"  Uh-oh!  I called him and assured him that I was soon going to leave.  That's when I found out that Sam and Sammy had left much earlier than I had thought they were going to and that Dick had been there with Bianca for several hours.

She had had a poopy diaper, which he changed.  He didn't know that she likes to tuck her toes under the railing at the end of her dressing table, so when he picked her up, her feet were caught.  No injury, but she really cried.  He had to pee and hated to put her down when she was already screaming, so bless his heart, he went "one-handed" while holding this screaming baby in the other arm.  (You're allowed to laugh.  We certainly did!!)

Then he gave her a bottle and she fell asleep.  When I got there she had been sleeping on him for about an hour-and-a-half.  Every now and then she would sob in her sleep.

I took her from him so he could finally shower.  She was definitely missing her daddy and mommy.  She was happy most of the time, but every now and then it seemed like she would remember again that they were not there and she'd get weepy again.  Like you can see on these two pics.

She was sporting her dress from Cozumel.

We decided to take her for a ride in their wagon.  She liked that.

The sun was really hot and these grandparents were ready to sit in the shade.  There's a nice park bench right behind their house. Bianca was in the mood for snuggles and I was too.

I could do this all day.

We went into the house through the basement and decided to hang out down there for a while.  She had graduated from this jumping chair months ago, so to her it was like a new toy.  She had so much fun for at least half an hour!  Dick took a nap on the couch while she chattered away.

Then we headed down the road to Grandpa Stauffers.  She was in such a happy mood the entire time we were there!  They were completely charmed by her.  She took a nap on the couch while we had a delicious meal of lasagna with them.  When she woke up near the end of the meal and sat on Dick's lap, his dad declared that he had never seen such a contented baby!

When we got back to Sam and Jenn's, Jenn was back from her day of drill, Sam and Sammy were back from their day of fun, and Bianca was delighted to see them all.

Sam and Jenn were going out on a date, but before they left I decided it was time for an updated family picture.  Jenn was looking so beautiful.

Sammy started out being his normal "Hammy Sammy."

He was told to stand nicely, so he did, refusing to smile.

But of course, he couldn't stay straight-faced forever!

I decided this was the best one of each family member.  Dear Bianca smiled so cute throughout the entire photoshoot!

Sammy wanted to take pictures with my phone.  Oops, missed Bianca's face behind that big hammer!

It's easy to smile nice when you're looking at him, haha!

While Dick played with the kids I made a big pot of chili for Sunday's fellowship meal at Grace Community Fellowship.  When we went to church there, that was almost always my contribution to the meal, so I decided to do it again for old times' sake.

Sam and Jenn were back before long, and after cleaning up the kitchen I was ready to hit the sack.  Sam and I had talked way past my bedtime the night before.  I slept like a log Saturday night.  I never heard Jenn leave for drill, probably at 5:30.

We took Sammy with us to Grace.  It was wonderful to see so many of our friends there.  AND we had another grandson there with us!  Bjorn and his lovely girlfriend Jess came too!  We sat with them during the fellowship meal and I had the greatest time getting to know her.  I discovered that I knew many of her relatives, especially her grandparents.  Now THAT makes me feel old for sure, haha!

I totally forgot to take any pictures of anybody that day, but here's a cute one I found on FB of Bjorn and Jess.

When we got back to Sam and Jenn's that afternoon we relaxed and napped.  Later in the afternoon Dick and I went a few miles down the road to visit Grandma Mary.  She had been at her son's cabin for the weekend and was getting back just as we arrived.  As always we had good conversation and some of her good food that's she'd brought home from the cabin.  Her flowers are looking AMAZING already.  Why did I not take pictures of them?  She has such a magic green thumb.

We then went back to Sam and Jenn's to watch Sammy participate in the Healthy Kids run in the athletic field behind their house.

Some kids run to win.  Sammy runs for the joy of it!

He loved all the applause!

It was a beautiful day for strolling around the field.  They are so fortunate to have a place like this right behind their house.

We watched the older kids run as we strolled along.

And then it was time to head home.  We had another wonderful weekend to talk about and tuck into our memory banks.

Before I close out here I have to show you the beautiful sight that met my eyes as I drove up Lori and Anthony's driveway yesterday.  The rhododendrons are starting to bloom!
