I had bare roads to drive on until I neared Camp Hebron. There was still a good bit of snow at places, and I was really glad it was still daylight. This is the retreat center as I approached it.
After I was inside I zoomed in and took this picture of the big slide at the pool where we always have so much fun during Stauffer camping each summer.
The fire in the big fireplace was burning all weekend. What ambiance it provided! This was my pathetic attempt at taking a selfie by the fire, ha!

Our speaker for the weekend was Brenda Hollenbach from Hershey, PA (standing to my left.) What a beautiful woman in every way! She stirred up our love for the Lord and also stirred up our compassion for women at risk. She had a huge display of jewelry and other products made by women at risk all over the world that we could buy. The Women at Risk International brochure that I have here says, "Every $250 in sales sustains a woman for a month in one of our safehouses." (Our small group this weekend generated enough sales to sustain a woman for THREE months!) The safehouses rescue women and children from the horror of human trafficking, providing them with holistic treatment, medical care, counseling, education, spiritual care, and job skill training. I loved leading these ladies in worship. So many beautiful voices and hearts!
My roommate was my dear friend Elta Nissley, second from right on the front row. You may remember that her husband Jay, lifelong friend of Dick's, died after a battle with brain cancer a year-and-a-half ago. It was good for us to have time to catch up with each other. We talked way too late last night, especially with the time change! She's an amazingly strong woman in every way and I'm in awe of all that she handles. Love you, Elta, my faithful reader and friend!
I got home at 3:30 this afternoon. Houserville church was again having a fund raiser at Hoss's today, so we joined Anthony and Austin there for dinner. (Lori is in South Africa until Friday.) Unfortunately, Austin had had a late nap and had to be wakened, so he was NOT in a good mood at first. When I tried to get a picture of him and his daddy, this is what I got.
And now I am feeling ready to go to bed. Too little sleep, too much food all weekend. Time to hit the reset button!

We have a WAR store near us. I've bought things there for myself and as gifts. It's beautiful and such a good cause too!
