I hate when I go a whole week between posts. It's so hard to think what all my week held, which I'm sure does not matter to you. But I kind of use this blog as my diary and memory-keeper.
I was busy with all my jobs, of course. I remember that on Tuesday evening I was in the mood for coffee after dinner and discovered after I had put down an entire big mugful of it, that I had mindlessly made regular instead of decaf! Oh boy, it was after 1:00 until I even tried to go to sleep, and I woke up several times. Of course, when my alarm went off in the morning I was finally in a deep sleep.
I made several of my soups that I eat regularly. I make a lot and freeze some. One day I was amused at my spice cupboard. Apparently there are some things I really don't want to run out of, ha!
Of course, we had snow some days. I think it was on Thursday that we had this bi-polar weather - snowing like a blizzard for five minutes, then sunshine, then another mini-blizzard, then sunshine. I took this during one of the blizzardly moments.
Anthony posted some baby pictures of Austin this week. Oh my. I love him so much as a five-year-old, but I really miss that baby! It seems like anymore, if you blink, these precious little ones are all grown up.
Last week the old copier at the church office broke down and this week we got a new one. I think I will like it, but on Friday I was ready to swear at it a few times! Later I calmed down as I folded and assembled bulletins and watched the first two messages in Andy Stanley's "Ask It" series. In my humble opinion, he is the best speaker there is. Here is a very rememberable question that has been stuck in my head ever since. If we were to ask this before we make choices and decisions, we could save ourselves a lot of trouble and messes.
Yesterday afternoon we drove to Lebanon County for a ZimWit reunion, held at the On Fire Youth Ministry building in Myerstown. What a loud, crazy bunch!! It was good to see Grandma Mary again, after her six weeks in Florida. We all feel sorry for her to come back to this miserable, snowy winter we're still having. In case you're a new reader - the ZimWits are my Dad's family (Witmers) and my stepmother's family (Zimmermans) combined. When they got married, she had six sons, my dad had seven daughters and one son, so the combination was seven of each! Of course, most of us were all grown up by then. Just her son Gary (16) and my sister Rose (19) were still at home.
We have always enjoyed being together, but my dad's illness and death four years ago brought us closer than ever before.
Here are my pics from last evening.
Our matriarch! We thought she looked so classy in her wool suit!
This morning I led the music at Fillmore and Houserville, good times both places.
Afterward we picked up Austin. On the way home he said, "I hate winter. Remember when you and Uncle Gary and Aunt Liz and Will came to our house and we ate on the deck? We should do that again."
Seriously, right now that feels like a LOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG way off. I'm trying really hard to keep a good attitude, but it's wearing thin.
Have a good week, everyone!

I love the relationship you Zimwits have. It's a rarity among stepfamilies.
The weather is wearing thin on me too. Spring can't come soon enough. We've made it to March though!
I had to laugh at your spice rack just because it looks so much like mine. :)
I like Andy Stanley also. He is a "one point" speaker. (That is about all I can take in. Ha! Ha!) He may even have a book out about how to use that kind of preaching. I have heard him speak on that method for our churches today. It is true that we usually remember more about the sermon during the week when there is one point and it is pounded in to our thoughts.
It is so true, baby Austin has grown up so quickly...too quickly. He is a precious little guy! When I see pictures of our grandchildren, I can hardly believe how big they are getting. Annie looks like she is 3 or 4 already!
About the weather: Saturday night a church called Alan to fill the pulpit on Sunday because the pastor wasn't feeling well. Then Sunday morning he called and told Alan that the roads were so bad that he couldn't ask him to drive the distance in this kind of weather so we didn't go to church. They were saying that we were going to get a lot of snow. As it turned out we only got 2 inches. The storm went south but just by a mile or two. Crazy weather!
Saturday evening was wonderful. I had my camera but never took it out of my purse!
We got a dusting...a late start to school yesterday but at least they went!! This cold weather can leave anytime now.
Have a good week!
