On Saturday morning we left home before 7:00 all dressed up for a wedding. Our nephew Mark, son of Fred and Deb Stauffer, was getting married to Amanda Hershey at 10:00 AM in Lancaster County. As we arrived at the wedding, it was like a reunion - not only of Stauffer family members, but so many other people that we've been friends with over the years. Here are the pics from the wedding.

I guess I was having too much fun at the reception to remember to take pictures. The only one I have is this one. The beautiful baby is being adopted by our niece Judi and her husband, who were at the wedding from Wisconsin. Holding her is sister-in-law Faye, beside her is Faye's granddaughter Natalia.
We left the reception at 3:00 and headed for Jeremy's in Washington DC, getting there around 5:30.
As always, we WALKED. A LOT!! That's one thing I love about going to DC. First we walked to H Street, which is making a wonderful come-back from the destruction it experienced during the years of race riots. Block after block of little shops and restaurants. We ate in a Japanese restaurant.
After eating, we walked back to the house. Jeremy said that we'd walked two miles so far. Then we walked fast to catch a bus. I don't remember what this building is, but we walked past it as we hurried by.

After the ball game was over there was a Gavin DeGraw concert - one of Mike's favorite musicians. There was no need to pay to hear him - we could hear him from Kim's place just like we'd have been there. Mike and Dick enjoyed it from the balcony.
It was very late when the concert was over, we got a cab, and headed back to the house. I'd been up since 4:15 am!
On Sunday morning we went to Capital Hill UMC, once again a very meaningful, beautiful worship service.
From there we walked to nearby Eastern Market. Whew!!! It was a major return of summer weather as the temps soared into the 90's, complete with humidity.
We ate lunch out in the sun, Indian food from Jeremy's neighbors' stand. They are just in the process of opening an Indian restaurant at the corner of their block. Jeremy and Mike have become good friends with them, helping them to get ready to open the restaurant. And in return our Sunday lunch was free.
From there we went to Union Market, a newer indoor place.

By then we'd had enough of the heat and went home to relax and nap. In the evening we walked to the nearby Giant for some groceries, made some tacos, and then played Scrabble with the XBox. First time Dick and I had ever done it that way, but we're old Scrabble pros and we still won!
Molly and Watson were very happy to cuddle up next to Grandma and Grandpa!
On Monday we went to see the latest store that Jeremy has been getting ready for open house. I took so many gorgeous pictures that I'm going to give them a post of their own, hopefully tomorrow sometime. My eyes are done for tonight.

Looks like fun in Washington too. That apartment is amazing.
