Stauffer Camping 2011

You know the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words."  So I'm going to let the pictures do most of the talking about the wonderful time we had this past weekend with Dick's family at Camp Hebron.

Campfire Fun

Connecting

Cooking and eating together

Having fun

Loving the little ones

And most of all, REJOICING that Grandpa and Grandma could be there with us the entire weekend!!  As I said they would, they stayed in a mobile home at the camp, but spent most of the time with us.  We were astonished at the way Dad could eat everything with no trouble at all.  He was walking short distances with no assistance at all, not even a cane, and longer distances holding hands with one of us.

Our group picture was a rushed affair, and I could hardly keep the horses standing still  long enough for me to try to position my camera for a timed shot.  Thus the cut-off heads.  Hopefully someone else's camera got a better one.

I took a short video of our worship around the campfire Sunday morning.  As we sang, "Savior, He can move the mountains," I felt like we all had profoundly experienced that very thing in the past few months.  Thank you, Lord!!

Hopefully tomorrow evening I can post the beautiful pictures from the wedding we attended Sunday evening.

I enjoyed the pictures! How blessed to have Hob and Arlene there. Looks like the Stauffer bunch still knows how to make camping an enjoyable time =)

Jeanie~ sure enjoyed your post! Just one question~ Was Bjorn there? I saw a pic that looked a bit like him, although I only would know that through their family picture.

Elaine, probably the one you're referring to is Laura Stauffer's husband. He has light hair. They are the ones who have that adorable baby girl - Fred and Deb's first grandchild.

I know how much you all enjoyed the weekend. I think it is wonderful and marvelous and exciting, too, to be able to get together with so many people who are all part of your family! I always wished I had more brothers and sisters. And, if I could have, I would have had a dozen. There just has to be comfort in seeing someone who smiles like you do, or whose eyes are shaped like yours. And, how sweet to share the nonsense stories that no one else would understand or appreciate. They just belong to the family. And, the heritage...to know that who you are and what you are and who you worship was all began long ago...and aren't you blessed that you get to pass it along, too?

I think I enjoyed thinking about your weekend as you did living it! Well...maybe not. At least I got to sleep inside! :-)
