We should have had some kind of special ceremony this evening. Why? Because we finally have flowers!!!
This house had NO flowers, no bushes, nothing but grass and some huge evergreen trees. We did plant a few small mums last fall, but the rabbits thoroughly enjoyed them, so they didn't do much to alleviate the naked appearance of our house.
Preparing a place to plant flowers is so much hard work! And we're not spring chickens anymore! Anyway, Dick got some beds prepared today, complete with some free topsoil that someone told us where to go for. Anthony and Lori will be having their inground pool bulldozed over next week, including all the stuff planted around it, so we're getting a bunch of lillies, tulips, daffodils, and maybe some bushes from them. If it's free, we'll take it!
Dad Stauffer just keeps on improving! Deb said that when they stopped by to see him last evening he called out to greet them as they arrived. In fact, he was calling out to greet people as they passed by in the hall! Now THAT is sounding like Dad!!

Now that's good news, all around! Especially the part about Dick's Dad!
Love the new header!!
How neat that you get all that free stuff to plant! Wasn't it nice of the previous owner of your home to allow you to design your own flower gardens?!! hehe
It warms my heart to hear of the great progress of Dick's Dad.
Always enjoy reading your posts Jeanie. I keep my parents informed about your father-in-law. They want to go visit him. So thankful for God's healing even in old age!
There's nothing like having some greenery...flowers, shrubs, etc....around the house. It just "softens" things and makes everything "feel" nice! I know you're excited.
So glad to hear Dick's Dad is doing so well.
Hugs,
Kat
yes its so nice to have flowers blooming, it makes the place feel like a home.
One thing for sure, Dick has had some wonderful weather in which to do yard work. I am glad that you are getting Lori's flowers. I remember when she planted them. They were on one of her first posts on her blog.
