Yesterday morning I took the time to watch the DVD Anthony made of my dad's funeral service. I've had it in my possession for a long time, but just could not bring myself to watch it.
I'm so glad I finally did! What a service! Every last minute of it. I feel a new resolve, a new challenge to bring blessing to my descendants the way he did. His deep, passionate longing for the Lord and his enthusiastic desire to share God's love with others drove him. He did not become the man and the blessing he was by indulging himself.
I think I should watch this DVD on a regular basis.

Jean, That is wonderful! So happy for you. To have such memories saved for posterity...that is a blessing. One day you can introduce him to Austin!
I have a CD that was made at my Mom's funeral...the whole service. But, I just can't bring myself to watch it yot. Joy and Pop watched it together before Christmas...but it is just not right for me, yet.

I watched a little bit of it and cried so much. I know I need to watch the whole thing and will. Someday.

What a blessing to have such a wonderful Dad! I think it's great that Anthony made this video. I know you watch it with tears, but also joy.
You were certainly blessed by a wonderful father who loved God so much. I am so happy for you that you have a DVD of the funeral.
I do not have any movies of my dad. I have good memories. I do remember that the church was full
for his funeral. About a dozen pastors were there and they all got up and said how my dad had influenced them. Dad was a man of faith. He built a church in a town with the population of 200 people. As Dad built the church, the town mayor came every week and ridiculed him. He said that he would never finish and that it would never be paid for. Long story short, the church was built, the Mormon church in town closed, those people were saved.
The congregation is still growing today and is a testament of a vision God gave to one man.
Is there a DVD for me? I know it will be difficult to watch but I'm sure there were parts of that service that will be very good to hear again. What an example he was for us to follow.
that is really nice to have. you and I both had wonderful fathers. Many times I just think of my dad doing something Or just remembering him and I talking about anything. Him sitting in his chair and me on the sofa and just having a good conversation.
