She was full of chatter when I picked her up at lunch. The cutest thing she said on the way home was, "And I didn't even think about Daddy and Mommy!" She misses them so much, so keeping her busy is important. She has a calendar on which we are X-ing out the days as we count down to Saturday evening when they return.
We did iChat twice today. She's already in love with a big stuffed tree frog they got for her that has long "arms" for hugging. Here they are doing a silly pose with it for my camera!
We got out the finger paints this afternoon. I never was and still am not a fan of finger paints, but kids love them it seems.
This afternoon a teacher from her school came to spend some time with her. They had a blast with shaving cream!
Afterward they went to the community pool while I cooked my yummy rice and beans with Sazon chicken. Stephanie, the teacher, stayed for dinner. I totally connected with her and enjoyed her company.
And what was happening in the back yard today? A man was here all day drilling holes and installing the child safety fence all around the pool. And someone else came this afternoon and started running water into it through the hose. It's been running ever since and by this evening I could start to see water in it from the window. I asked George what happens if it fills up during the night. Would there be a flood?? But he assured me that there were plenty of drains built into the pool and patio area. I'm sure they wouldn't have left it running if they had thought it would overflow before they returned in the morning. Would they??
