Dick's days "off"

Dick had off work yesterday and today, but he didn't really have off WORK. Yesterday he went down to our Lititz house to mow the lawn and to sort through his things in our shed and our storage unit. He took a load of stuff to the transfer station, woohoo!! He's not quite a hoarder, but he definitely has some of those tendencies, so getting rid of "stuff" does not come without some pain!

Today he mowed our lawn here in State College, did some weed-whacking, dug out a tree stump, cut down a little volunteer tree that was trying to act like it belonged with some much nicer bushes (!), and trimmed the very overgrown forsythia bushes. But he had some time to play too with our little guy who now has less hair than his grandpa, hahahaha!

They tussled on the floor,

they sat on the tailgate of the pickup truck loaded with forsythia branches,

and they hung out on the sunny deck.
This was an exceptionally beautiful day, with a great breeze and much lower humidity.

I'll be driving to Lancaster County by myself this weekend. Dick will be working in order to be able to have off next weekend for our annual camping weekend with his family.

And, by the way!  I forgot to say that on Sunday Anthony had a chance to talk to the next-door neighbor man who is a HVAC guy.  First thing Monday morning he was over here replacing the burnt out blower motor.  The bill for  his work was amazingly low.  Anthony's advice on FB that afternoon was:  if you live next to a HVAC guy, be nice to him!  It surely paid off in this case.  Air conditioning never felt so wonderful, let me tell you!

Oh, the memories that sweet boy will have for as far back as he can remember! Such cute pictures. Have a great weekend. Be safe driving!

Tonja is so right! The bonding this little guy is getting with his grandparents is something most grandchildren are not getting these days.
