my not-so-dramatic week

This week is just moving right along, isn't it?  After my dramatic story from the weekend, it feels like nothing since is interesting, hahahaha!  But I like it that way a whole lot better.

Monday was Anthony and Lori's 7th anniversary.  They went out for the day and evening.  Austin and I had a wonderful day together.

On Tuesday I got a new iPhone.  Anthony, Lori, Dick, and I are on one big family plan.  On Sunday Lori put her phone on the roof of their car (can you believe it?????  I would never do something like that!!)  And you already guessed what happened.  Not only did it fall off, it got run over.  So because Anthony and Lori are not yet eligible for upgrades, we ended up getting me a new phone, at a very amazing price at Walmart, and I gave mine, which used to be Lori's, back to her.  So now I can take videos.  Here's my first one.  Austin has discovered that the box his water table came in makes a good sliding board.  He crawls up and slides down over and over again.  But of course, as soon as I got my phone out for a video, he was soon finished.  This grandma is just too slow for him sometimes.

We're having HOT weather and I love it.  I spent the evening working in the flower beds.  What a difference from last week.  It had rained the previous two days, thus the weeks pulled out so easily.  Not this time.  The heat and the lack of rain is making the soil dry and hard.

I'm falling asleep here.  Good night.

I'll be looking forward to more Austin videos! This one was cute, even though he only did it once!

NO! Not another person in your family who puts things on top of the car! Well, you would NEVER do that! Ha! Ha! I laughed, but it is not funny! Wait till I tell my sister this! She will not believe it.

One good thing though, we now get to see videos of the people in your life. This is going to be even more fun!

I'm so sorry about the top of the car incident, friend. I don't do that either (Ha!) I just leave my opened purse on the little stand thingy at Sam's Club while heaving my heavily loaded card forward with one hand and dragging my sister's with another, while she steered hers from behind with one hand and drug one of those buckets with wheels that wanted to go everywhere but forward with the other. (What a sight we must have been!) Neither of us even missed that purse until the checker came hollering out to the parking lot to give it back to me, still gaping open, but all intact. Whew! I was glad I had a strong young man who was willing to run after me. I've been there before when checkers just think their responsibility is to turn it in to the office because they don't feel like running after anyone.

By the way, I, too, prefer that you don't lose your wallet in such a dramatic way -- but then, that does make for better stories than boring days. Love you!

Jean, thank you for taking the time to visit my Southern Lagniappe blog and for leaving such a sweet comment. I'm so glad it led me to your blog.

I loved the story about Sophie and the ironing board/surfboard. I can relate to it because I had to explain to our little granddaughter what mine was, too. So funny!

I'll be back to visit again soon.

Sincerely,

Janie

What a blessing to get to watch a grandchild literally grow up before your eyes!

I sure miss mine.
