Comfy seat for video watching - Grandpa's belly!
The real story from today started Sunday evening. Actually, before that. I've been thinking that I'd like to get a little micrwave for our downstairs living quarters. I had two gift cards for Target, so when I saw that they had a little one on sale, I decided to go there and get one.
It was exactly what I wanted, even had the express buttons that I like so much. I got a few more items and went to the checkout. I gave my two gift cards, then proceeded to put the remaining $9.13 on my bankcard. But the card reader absolutely did not work. Even the cashier could not get it to work, so she called for help. The person who came to help tried all the same things with no luck, so she told me to go to a different cash register and she checked me out there.
I brought the microwave home, Dick carried it into the house, set it up, plugged it in. It did not work! Everything lit up like it should have, the numbers would count down, but it did not run.
So today Dick had off and he took it back, along with the reciept, to exchange it for another one. He brought it home and it worked like a charm.
Around that same time I looked at our checking account activity online, and noticed that I had a debit of $69.13 from Target. What?? I had used $60 worth of gift cards. Or had I? I thought about the way they had moved me to a different cash register, minus the gift cards. What had become of my gift cards??? I was mad. Lori had just gotten home from work and she said I should go take care of it right away. She told me to cry, hahaha!
Oh, what a MESS I was in. It honestly took an hour and a half to take care of it! There was no evidence of the gift cards. I had already returned one of the things on the receipt. To further complicate things, when Dick had taken the defective microwave back, instead of just having him do an even exchange, they had issued him a gift card for that amount, told him to go get another one and pay it with the gift card, which he had done. I didn't have that receipt with me, so Dick had to bring it. They had to call some number to get permission to do whatever they were doing, and listening to them try to explain what the problem was totally made me sound like a scam artist. I very nearly did cry. The whole time I was hungry and had to pee and I hadn't remembered to change out of my white Crocs that I wear around the house, so I felt homely and miserable. But I got my sixty bucks back, by golly!

What a story! I'm glad it had a happy ending and by all means enjoy that microwave!
What a mess! You have an honest face, so they believed you!
Glad it worked out in the end and that microwave better stay working for some time!
You probably could have handled it all much better if you had remembered to take off the CROCS!!!! They just threw you off your game. :)
Glad you got it all worked out, though!
Glad there was a happy ending to this story. My heart was breaking for you...
