In addition to a doctor appointment and a hair appointment today, I started the fun of going through some things to decide whether to keep or to throw out. I'm starting with things that I can live without for a while - like my big stash of CD's.
I even had some cassette tapes that I brought along when we moved four years ago. How times change! I threw out a HUGE amount of cassettes before that move. But, alas, this evening I threw out almost all the ones I had kept. I don't have a cassette player anymore, but I did keep the tapes that have sentimental value. The oldest one is the tape of our wedding 38 years ago! There are many that I recorded of the kids when they were young. There's one that has Dick's mom's voice on it (she died in 1981) and several of singing groups we were in years ago.
I wonder if I'll throw out all my CD's the next time I move. It's crazy how technology keeps outdating things.

I've thrown out my cassettes too - except a few of those special ones. I worry that they will break someday - have you thought about that?
If you ever decide to get rid of some of your CD's please keep me in mind. I'm almost too embarrassed to say that I only have a handful of CD's. I don't have a CD player that works here at home. Corey bought me one for Christmas several years ago that I have in my office. I keep replaying the few that I have or sometimes I will play some that we have for our residents (many of them were donated to us from the elderly!) which are ok but not what I would choose.
I have not had time to clean out anything here at home but I have been cleaning out desk drawers at work. Every time I open a drawer and see how empty it is, I smile with delight! Feels good =)

I hope your day went well. It certainly is another beautiful day today. I would love to have a picnic or go to the park but I don't have a dog to walk or a kid for an excuse to play on the swings, so I guess I will stay home and clean bathrooms and act my age. Ha! Ha!
My computer is home but being really obnoxious! So, I remain Anonymous!
I wonder what the 'next big thing' will be. What else will I get to learn during my lifetime?
Why are people so quick to throw stuff out just because the technology is a little old? these formats are still just as good today as they were when they first came out. Sure, new stuff may work better but that does not make the older technology junk either! I still play records,(yeah, the vinyl kind), cassettes,CD's,and even eight track tapes! If we don't preserve stuff from the past, how are we gong to ever learn from it to make improvements in the future?
I only have a handful ot CD's as well and don"t play them to often. I remember the records and how we used to play them all the time. I still have some records. Its no fun to go through things and to decide what to keep and to throw away. Good luck in getting it all done.
I was just thinking the other day that I should get rid of a lot of mine too. Times are "a changing"!

Jean, As I was reading your comments this morning, something that I NEVER do, but I am glad that I did this morning. The first Anonymous comment was from me. Yes I am still having computer problems and now Alan thinks that I will have to get a new computer.
Anyway, the second Anonymous comment was NOT from me! Just so you will know! Throw out everything! That is my advice! =)
