I'm feeling so thankful for the weekend - to be able to just "chill" and not feel like I must be making wise use of every minute of the evening like I had to this week. The trial will continue into next week, so I suppose we'll continue our extra duties with Destiny. She really is doing great. It's just all the extra driving that gets old. She just loves school and her teacher so far, which is such a blessing after the really bad experience she had been having at her previous school in Reading. This evening Dick took her to the pool at the rec center.
We are having beautiful weather in the 60's!!! There is nothing like it to restore the soul, I am convinced. After Destiny and I got home from Lancaster, Dick went outside to clean dead stuff out of the flower beds, Destiny rode her bike for the first time in months, and I went to the nearby grocery store for a few things. I felt absolutely giddy over the weather. I spent too much money at the store, because I just felt tired of watching every penny. I just wanted to celebrate!
Our family is waiting and praying with my niece Lori as she awaits the results of an MRI done yesterday, from which a decision will be made whether or not to proceed with surgery. She is fighting colon cancer the second time. This is very heavy on my heart and constantly on my mind. I cannot think about her without tears. Please pray for her and her precious family.
I always loved Barbara Bush. This morning on the Today Show they showed George Sr. talking about the open heart surgery she had yesterday. Of course he cried, and it was so adorable. On NBC's website you can watch the video of the interview. It was just precious.
One more thing - I gotta tell you about the CRAZY driver I saw yesterday. On my way to Lancaster to pick up Destiny I was going down a ramp to get onto a 4-lane highway. As I neared the end of the ramp a car passed me on the RIGHT at a high rate of speed, swerved in front of me, continued over and swerved in front of the car that was passing me on the left, then swerved right to get in front of the car that was ahead of me, and thus he continued back and forth from lane to lane. I fully expected to see a crash up ahead, but I guess he got lucky.
Have a great weekend, everybody!

It's in the low 50's here and it feels wonderful! Glad you weren't hurt with that crazy car zooming around you.
I so agree about the weather. We were in the 70's yesterday and will be all next week. It just does the soul good. Lori is on my mind so much too. It is so hard to see her have so much pain in her life. Enjoy your weekend!
I will be praying for Lori and waiting to hear. I just told Alan that Dick cleaned out your flower beds yesterday. (hint, hint)
