The day after Thanksgiving

Yesterday was a good day for sitting around....

...and eating leftovers!

But Destiny got bored with that. So I got an old tee-shirt of mine and cut out the shape of a raglan sleeved jacket for Destiny to sew together for her American Girl doll. For some reason she wanted her doll to wear it backwards!

Here's a close-up view of her handiwork! And she also put that Velcro strip on the opening by herself. She was feeling quite accomplished!

Later Anthony and Lori participated in the Black Friday shopping craziness. But it was to my advantage. They came home with a new flat-screen computer monitor - an early Christmas gift for us. For quite a while he's been saying that my monitor is getting old and things are not as sharp as they should be, nor the colors of my pictures as true as they should be. Thank you, Anthony and Lori!!

I kept in touch with Dick throughout the day. He left a very broken-hearted Sophie in Florida. Lisa said she sobbed mournfully for 20 minutes after they took him to the airport. He played a voice mail for us last night that they had left on his cell phone. Sophie said in a very quivery voice, "We miss you." It brings tears to your eyes, I'm telling you.

Dick drove straight from the Baltimore Airport to the Hershey football stadium. (He had kept winter clothes in his car to change into!) Our local football team was in a championship play-off game there, and he didn't want to miss it. He called me at 7:05, as he neared the stadium and was listening to the game on the radio, and excitedly announced that our team had already scored a touchdown. Would you believe that was the ONLY score they made all night???? The other team won 15 to 7, not a high-scoring game. I hope Dick thinks it was worth being there, ha, ha, ha!

We were very glad to welcome him home around 10 PM.

Nice gift! I keep waiting for the day when I get a flat screen at work. I am l-l-o-o-w-w on the totem pole! I was the last dept. manager to get a computer. The kids would like one here at home too but ours is working fine.

Greta and Lyn were at the game. Dale was disappointed it wasn't on TV. Greta called him after the game to tell him the score. Ellen is greatly disappointed............

Today we will put up some Christmas decorations. Next week is so busy and I'm concerned Christmas will be here and the tree will still be in the attic! Of course, I have more than one kid who would prefer to let it there and go out to buy a fresh one! Not this year....no money spent where it does not need to be.

Hope to see you soon. Who would ever guess that we only live a few miles apart....it's almost a crime how little I see my family who live close by.

Poor little Sophie! I hate when kids aer that heartbroken. I'm glad they had a good time together.

I would LOVE a flatscreen here at home, but it's not in the budget until this one goes out! Sounds like a GREAT gift to me!

Tell Destiny she's quite the little seamstress...I am impressed!

Great Christmas present! I think you will be able to tell a difference. We both have flat screens but Alan's is a tad wider than mine. (His is newer.) One draw back on the wider screen is that we all look a little fatter! YIKES!
So now, when you see me on your new big flat screen, just remember this, I AM NOT THAT FAT!!!!!!!
