Counting my blessings

One thing is certain - if I am at all tempted to feel sorry for myself, all I need to do is watch the news for a few mintues. The economic news is bleak, and we are by no means the only ones experiencing unemployment. And then the news from the devastation caused by Ike is even more bleak. I need to be counting my blessings.

Before I went into the gym this afternoon I was listening to my Michael W. Smith Worship CD. The song
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus with incredibly beautiful violin accompaniment, washed over me as I played it again and again. I remembered hearing him do that song in person at a worship concert in Philadelphia back in October 2001. Dick and I and Jeremy (and one-year-old Destiny) went to that concert of various worship leaders and composers. It was an amazingly precious experience that I'll never forget.

That is just beautiful. I always love hearing him, but the addition of the violins was great.

Jean, we all need to be reminded that others have it worse than we do. Beautiful song! Praying for you and Dick daily.

That was our trio's song many years ago. The message is the same today.
Praying for you.
