We finally had a chance to work outside today, cleaning up dead stuff from last year, pulling weeds already, and mulching around our new, little daffodils. At our other house we had so many daffodils, and I couldn't believe that this house didn't have any. However, we didn't get any planted until last fall. I was so delighted to see them come up and bloom, even if they are the tiniest things. Is that normal for the first year, or are these miniatures??
Everything we do around here feels like we're pioneers in the wild. This soil is outragiously hard and stony. But little by little we're getting things planted and each year it looks a little nicer.

What are you complaining about small flowers for? I'd be delighted to see the grass and even weeds at this point! We are still fighting away the snow. It even snowed a little this morning. (It will melt during the day, but I wanna see GREEN!!) So, be blessed by every shade of green, and every flower- big and small!

Your landscaping looks marvelous! Your new sidewalks are so pretty. Another year might give your daffodils strength for their journey.
We did not get so far in our yard work today. We cleaned out only four flower beds. We have a way to go before we are ready for mulch, but yours looks so pretty. I like the texture of your mulch. Where do they sell that kind?

We planted tulips last fall and the green is up, but no color yet. Your daffodils look lovely - as does that concrete (if I may say so!) ;-) heehee
OK, that sounded a little silly - the green stems are up, but no tulip flower color yet!
I was hoping you would notice that fine concrete, mamma roar!!! Actually, we planted tulips too. Their "greens" can be seen in among the daffodils.
It looks beautiful I have tulip greens comming up can"t wait till they bloom. When my parents moved i dug out alot from their garden and planted them in my flower bed so I am anxious to see what colors I will have.
