Today my beloved dad turned 85 years old. Those of us siblings who live in PA spent lunch and the afternoon with him. While we were there my sister Barb from Idaho and my sister Rose from Georgia called. We didn't hear from Betty in New Hampshire, but we all know she has so much on her plate right now, and we only wished we could be there for her.
We asked dad if any birthdays stand out in his mind, and guess which one did? His sixteenth!! He remembers turning 14 and thinking how he had to wait two more years to drive. Very shortly after his sixteenth birthday he received his permit, took his driving test the next day, and passed it!
Dad's legacy to our family is his absolute integrity and honesty, his tremendous passion for God and His Word, and his soft, compassionate heart for people.
We are a very blessed family. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Dad.
