Boy, am I ever glad to be home in my warm house. It is ferociously windy outside and several times today there were snow squalls. When I left school it was snowing like crazy and I was so tempted to just go home, but I resisted the urge and went to the gym. Once inside it was easy to forget how cold and windy it was outside.
When I left the gym I decided to go to the mall to look for an outfit for my Christmas programs. (Dick always plays basketball on Monday evenings, so I knew he wouldn't be home anyway, and there were some good leftovers in the frig for his supper.) I'm afraid I undid any savings I've accomplished with all the good bargains I've found at Goodwill and Salvation Army. I went to Boscov's and was delighted that I didn't have to shop in the Women's sizes for the first time in several years . There were all kinds of signs above the racks - 30% off, 50% off, even 75% off. I found about six outfits to take to fitting room. Out of them all I liked only one, and I really liked it. I was surprised when I looked at the price tag, but I was hopeful that I had gotten it off one of those really reduced racks. No such luck. It was not reduced at all!! Wouldn't you know - out of the six outfits, that was the only one that wasn't reduced! I couldn't believe it. But at Boscov's they do have something they call Register Roulette, and if you pay with your Boscov's card, you get a chance at a higher percentage off. I didn't have my card along, because the only time I ever used it was when I opened a charge account in order to get a reduced price on my nephew's wedding gift over a year ago. But they were able to look up my account number, and I got a whopping 20% off. Not exactly something to jump up and down about, that's for sure.
It was snowing like crazy again when I left the mall, but it seems the temperature isn't low enough for the snow to lay. That, or it all blows somewhere else with this wind! Praise the Lord for a warm, comfortable house to come home to. We are blessed.

Jean,
That is so funny to me that you did all that while it was snowing! If it even threatens flurries down here, the whole city shuts down!!! We are so silly!
Sounds like me shopping...the stuff I usually like is NEVER on sale!!! Glad you found something!
And glad you made it back to your warm, comfortable home!
I was going to say exactly what Tracey said! Snow usually shuts EVERYTHING down...even the mention of it. LOL!
No snow here...ever, I guess. I love it though. Maybe we'll get some in New York next week.
Hugs!
Kat
Believe me, girls, if it had been snow that was laying on the ground and the roads I would not have been driving around. While it looked very ferocious, I knew the temp wasn't low enough for it to cause trouble. I really do hate driving when the roads are slick. I drive like a REALLY old lady, and people behind me do not appreciate it at all!
Doesn't it feel good to slip into a Missi's sized dress? I am glad that you got one that you REALLY like. Sometimes it pays to buy something a little more expensive that you like because you will get more wear out of it. Can't wait to see it on you.
Alan wanted to go to the mall last night, but I talked him out of it. If we wait till tonight, the coupons begin. He wants to buy speakers for my ipod. If he spends $50, we get $10 free to use on the next purchase. So.....
