After taking a long time to eat breakfast we tried to decide how to spend the time until I would meet my blogging friends at 3:00. Ray really wanted to drive to Perdido Key State Park. I didn't think I wanted to go in the water and get all sandy and wet, because then I would have to shower and do my hair all over again. But I thought it would be okay to go just to see the beach. Well, that was a big mistake. It was the most awesome beach I have ever seen!! The sand was so fine and white, the water was so clean it looked like drinking water! And it was HOT in the 90 degree humidity.

At first we stood at the edge and got our feet wet. Here's Ray being his crazy self with his shorts pulled high above his waist!

Finally I didn't care anymore - I just had to go in. And that's just what I did. Fully clothed and in my right mind, I waded out and out and out and finally got in the water up to my shoulders. It felt sooo good - that is, until I got out of the water!! Thankfully Ray's raincoat was in the car, for whatever reason, and I was able to sit on that on the way back to our hotel!
