All week long we have been teased by the possibility of rain, but here in our corner of Lancaster County there were a few sprinkles at best. Until late this afternoon. I had already picked Destiny up and we were here at home. I heard thunder and looked outside at an ominous sky. I needed a few things at the nearby grocery store so we hurried out to the car, got our few things at the store, hurried home, and just as we were getting out of the car the rain started. It really, really rained! Now it smells so fresh and wonderful outside. Unfortunately it knocked a lot of blossoms off my geraniums and made my petunias hang their weary heads, but they'll recover. I think we're to get more thunder showers tomorrow and then a chance of a good, steady rain on Sunday. So I think next week I'll be out there pulling weeds.
Tomorrow we'll be going to Hershey Park for the day. Dick's place of employment gave us the tickets, then they'll provide a meal for all of us in one of the pavilions at the park. A ticket to Hershey Park can also be used the prior evening, so Dick used our three tickets this evening, took two teenage boys from church who live without their dad, and went to the park to ride all the roller coasters. That way it will be out of his system tomorrow when he has to be a good grandpa and ride the tamer things with Destiny and me!!

How nice of your husband to take those two boys tonight to Hershey Park...very thoughtful. You're funny though about him having the roller coaster thing our of his system by tomorrow. That made me giggle. I hope you and Destiny are having fun tonight.
Thanks for the comments on my last post...the one about the 'front row.' I've thought a lot about that post today and need some opinions about something, but I'm saving up for how to word it. I will want to know what you think though and like I told Kat, I may have never met you, but you have somehow found your way to the front row for me! Cool, huh? :-)
Rain is good. Unfortunately I was trying to do some shopping as it was pouring! It put a damper on my day for awhile but after it was over, it wasn't as humid and the evening was perfect. Have fun at Hershey Park. The kids hope we will find a day to go this year. I don't know. Maybe if G and G pay their own way! That will make them pause for a moment!! I usually am the bag lady while the rest of the gang enjoys the rides. Not all bad ~ at least I get to be with me for a change!
Oh, how I love the rain! Love everything about it...the feel, the smell, the sound, etc. Enjoy!

I love Hershey Park. When we lived in Warminister, PA, Dom and I went there a lot with the kids. We even left the girls with my mother one night and went out there by ourselves. I remember taking Susan on the Super Dooper Looper (it was the first roller coaster to make a loop) and she got a shirt saying "I survived the Super Dooper Looper." She was so small, she couldn't even reach the bar to hold on - I had to hold her with one arm and hold the bar with the other. What was I thinking???
I would ride the merry-go-round and maybe the bumper cars. And that would be it. I get a very strange feeling in my legs when I get very far off the ground. My reasoning has been, "Why should I scare myself silly if I don't need to? There's enough stuff in life to challenge my bravery without taking on things for (so called) fun!" (So now you know what a terrible chicken I am.) I enjoy Hershey Park at Christmas time, though. They have a caroling in the park evening that we were able to take in one time as a family, and what a good time we had that night! I hope your day is wunnerful!
