From the mouths of "babes"

Here are a few quotes from the mouths of "babes." This evening Lisa said that recently Sophie said, "That sounds like a good plan, Mommy. That's a great idea!" Does that sound like something that would come out of a two-year-old's mouth?? Another recent one - "Look, Mommy, it's tipping over." Tipping? At the rate she's adding to her vocabulary, we're going to need a dictionary to understand what she's talking about by the time she's in Jr. High! Of course, not understanding a teenager's vocabulary isn't all that uncommon!!

This evening Destiny was singing, as she always does, as she played. She just makes up songs all the time. This time she was singing, "He's waiting, He's waiting for you to die, for everyone to die, so He can take us to Heaven. We'll have so much fun, walking on the clouds, getting to fly, so much fun, so much fun." I have no idea who gave her the idea we'll walk on clouds and get to fly, but it surely made me smile as I listened.

Yes, Destiny is still here at least until tomorrow evening. Tomorrow will be a very difficult day for Enid and her family - the preliminary hearing for Enid's brother and fiance and the other two young men involved in the murder of Ray Diener on May 2nd. I will be praying for them tonight and tomorrow. Yes, these young men committed a dreadful crime, but they are someone's son, brother, grandson, boyfriend, etc, and there is so much grief, so many sleepless nights, panic attacks, so much fear and pain. Until I heard Enid describe the mental torture that her brother is experiencing I never gave it a thought what it would be like to be the accused. If I had foolishly committed such a crime and was put into a cell alone for 23 hours a day, what would I do with all that time? Would I have any desire to stay alive? Like I said, I have never pondered such things before, but doing so has given me a desire to pray for these young men as well as their families.
