We had an early start this morning, as I had a 7:40 AM appointment for blood work. From there we went to my pastor's wife's house for our Thursday morning prayer meeting. I hadn't been there for about a month, so it was so good to be back again. I don't know what I would do without these dear "sisters". They are so "there" for me, no matter what.
After that we went to the gym, then to McDonald's for a drive-through lunch (we like their snack wraps), then to the grocery store to stock up on the food I need for camping this coming weekend. Destiny fell in love with a little stuffed hamster named Rosa while we were there. I let her hold it all the way through the store and told her that after I pay her for her jobs this week she'll have enough money to buy her. So she kissed her goodbye. She'd better still be there next week, or I'm in trouble!
We will be going to Camp Hebron above Harrisburg this weekend with Dick's family. It's an annual tradition for many, many years, and always lots and lots of fun. We are so looking forward to it. It sounds like the weather will be lovely, although the Stauffers are expert campers in any weather. We have truly "weathered" it all over these years (well, maybe not snow!!)
I just made a huge amount of chili. I always serve the Sunday noon meal - Mexican Pile-up. No one ever seems to tired of it. Now I need to make the dessert - peanut butter rice krispie treats with chocolate on top. Then tomorrow morning I'll make my other traditional Stauffer camping food - strawberry jello with fruit cocktail mixed in.
I'm so excited about Lisa coming in two weeks. They've never been up since we moved here, so now I suddenly have a mile-long list of stuff I want to accomplish before then!

Boy, I need to learn to read more closely. I thought that Destiny was walking through the grocery store with a LIVE hamster. I was wondering what kind of grocery store would have live hamsters!
Maybe you could sneak into the store and buy the stuffed hamster and hold it until Destiny has enough money. That way she wouldn't be disappointed and you wouldn't be in trouble!

Sounds like you've got things under control for your camping trip. Everything sounds yummy.
FYI - Tracey called today while I was out and left a message. I called her back and left her a message. Phone tag. She did mention that her cell service wasn't good. I haven't heard back from her, so I'm worried that she might not get my message until after she gets home. That's happened to me when I've been out of town. Sometimes I get messages days later. Urg! Sure hope she calls me back.
I agree with Lynne too...I'd go back and get the hamster just so Destiny is sure to have it! Of course, who knows if she'll still really want it by then, you know??? Kids. Adults too really! :-)
When I read that about the McDonald's snack wraps, I was like, "AWWW...I love those too!" I've kinda get a McDonald's hankerin' every once in a while myself!
Hope all goes well with camping. Sounds like you'll have some good 'eats' no matter how it goes! When do you leave?

Aren't family times so wonderful -- especially when you have a sister that makes wonderful food like you do! I'm not a Witmer or a Stauffer, but it sounds like it would be advantageous -- And doesn't it feel good to have the things done ahead of time? That is a most secure feeling when the work is behind you and the joy is before you. I hope you have a wonderful time! Also, I just got caught up again. Xanga (the provider) was down for a while and then my computer has low disk space right now, and it takes it forever to bring stuff up -- and so whenever I tried to get on your site, it didn't co-operate very well, and when I did get the site up, there were pictures missing! (Which frustrates me to no end! My Computer whiz of a Son in law is in Cleveland this week, and this household of Yutzy's is rather inept at fixing anything electronic.)
