Some highlights from yesterday

I got a goooood night's sleep, and now I have about a week's worth of work to accomplish in one day. It's SOOO beautiful outside and I just wish I could forget about all the mundane, regular things like laundry, bookwork, bill paying, music prep for tomorrow, grocery shopping, etc that need to be done.

Below I posted a few pictures from yesterday. Our guest conductor yesterday was Andrea Welty Peachey from Connecticut. She was, without question, the best conductor for this event that we have EVER had. The kids just loved her. That in itself can make or break a day like this. I felt really good about how our individual song went, and the mass choir sounded great.

On the down side, during the periods of time when the kids aren't rehearsing or performing, it's getting increasingly hard for me to "take" the unbridled energy of 450 middle school students. I think it's a combination of that energy being a lot more "unbridled" than it used to be, and the fact that I'm getting older and it just gets on my nerves more than it used to. But they look and sound like such angels up there on the stage, so I keep forgiving them!

I will post a story today, but it's not on my urgent list of things to do, so don't expect it till evening!

The pictures are great...how many people do you think are in that large group shot? WOW...that is a big crowd...and I can't believe they remake those risers every year!

I'm looking forward to your story later!

What a day you had! I'm so glad it went well and the kids performed well. You must be exhausted though. I hope you find some time to sit down and prop your feet up today.

I am glad that the day went well. I can imagine all the energy that was expressed during the downtimes. You need to hire someone to deal with it next year so you can take a break! LOL!

It is getting harder and harder to take the unbridled energy of anyone these days. Where has our adaptability gone??? Some days I think that if it just weren't so unbridled, I would be fine. But there has to be more to it that that! Must just be that "getting older" business, though I do not like to hear it! And the group looks full of potential, to say the least.

I am eagerly waiting for the story -- but don't hurt yourself.
