This has been a rather frustrating day for Dick. Last week, right after he finally went to the doctor for the fungal infection in his throat, we noticed that his right elbow looked like it had a lot of fluid on it. It wasn't painful, so he didn't do anything about it. However, last evening I noticed that it was bright red. I said, "With your history, I think you need to see a doctor about that." He said, "But it doesn't hurt at all." I replied, "The red bumps on your head didn't hurt either." So he called and got an appointment for this morning. As he was packing his lunch this morning he said, " I am tired of having ailments."
Later when I was at my Thursday morning prayer meeting, my cell phone rang. It was Dick calling from work. He said, "I don't know what's going on with me. I just threw up twice." He went to his appointment after that. The doctor assumed he got the stomach virus, so that's why he threw up. He also assumed that Dick somehow bruised his elbow and it's infected, so he prescribed an antibiotic for that. He also wants him to not use his arm for two days and put heat on it, so he's needing to take more time off work. Unbelievable. He's the guy that barely skipped a beat when he had cancer and chemo treatments, and now it seems like he's getting one thing after another. Like I said, it's very frustrating for him. So when he comes to your mind, pray for his healing and for patience.
This evening Destiny and I spent some time at my sister Mary Ellen's house. She was having my brother and his wife and their son Steve and his family for supper. Steves are here for a week from Garland, Texas. I posted their pictures below.
So now, after being teased by temperatures in the 70's this week, we are listening to forecasts of snow for tomorrow. That's March for you!

I was just thinking the same thing! How could it have been 86º today and they be calling for snow tomorrow??? Something just ain't right! And I am so sorry about the problems that Dick is having. Has he considered that it might be the extra hair that he's carrying? (Just kidding!-- He looks better with some hair!) And I will keep you both in my prayers. It is so disconcerting when our strong brave men get mysterious ailments that are so troubling. I hope all is right soon in the Stauffer Stall.
Keep us posted about your husband. I read all this just shaking my head..it does seem like a lot at once. I had that stomach virus a couple of weeks ago and missed my first day of work in 22 years and don't know that I have EVER been that sick! It is serious stuff! I will remember to pray for him...and you! Blogging is a whole new 'neighborhood,' isn't it?

If Dick has what Chad had a week or so ago, he is VERY sick. I don't know what we didn't get it from Chad but we are not complaining.
Doing the work that Dick does, I am sure he hits himself by getting into tight corners around motors and he doesn't give it a second thought, but he should still keep an eye on it.
We have been praying for him all along.
Tell Dick we are praying for him.
Father, I lift Dick to You. Bless him with strength, patience, and healing. Give the doctors wisdom, and also, Lord, meet Jeannie's needs during this frustrating time for Dick.
