Thankful for this Thanksgiving Day

This was a really good day. I took my good old time cooking and finishing the cleaning. My sister Mary Ellen and my sister-in-law Nancy provided me with some of the food they were making for their meal together. So I only had to make the turkey, baked corn, and stuffing. We and Sam and Ray ate around 4:00.

Later Frank and Abby and her children came (they had been at her aunt's house first). My sister Doris and her husband and their three girls also came for the evening. We had SO MUCH FUN playing Dictionary. It is our family tradition (that is, Dick and I and our children). It's the same as Balderdash, but we just use dictionaries. One person picks a word out of the dictionary that hopefully no one is familiar with. Then each person writes on a piece of paper a definition that hopefully sounds like it could be the real definition from the dictionary. The person who chose the word writes the real definition on his piece of paper. Then he reads all the definitions and everyone else needs to chose which one he thinks is the real one. We had so many good laughs this evening as we played.

Ray was his usual comic self and had us entertained and laughing most of the afternoon and especially the evening. The bigger the group the better he gets. What a guy!
