It seems like disasters are becoming more and more common place. We're hardly finished hearing about the tsunami and Katrina and Rita, and now today there are at least 3000 dead from an earthquake in several Asian countries and over 1000 dead in Guatemala from a landslide. It certainly seems like the end of the world must be nearing. Of course, according to my crazy son Anthony, the real sign that it's the end of the world is that his sister Lisa got an Ipod before he did and his mom has a blogsite and he doesn't!! He, the technological guru of this family, is letting some of us slip past him!!
I talked with Lisa for a while this evening. Sophie is now 8 1/2 months old and becoming quite the active little ham. I can hardly stand it when Lisa tells me all the cute things she does. It's so hard to be so far away. Today she was watching out the window as George was riding by on the mower. She would get all excited and wave her whole arm and say "Da da da da." Of course, Lisa said she says the same thing to Dexter their dog, so....
It rained all day today, sometimes very heavily. I guess some places are really flooded. Not us. We're high and dry here, praise God.
